Come and see us for day 2 at ABTT Theatre Show 🎭

What a brilliant first day we had. The conversations were flowing and the buzz hasn’t stopped, we’ve loved seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and talking all things lighting and control.

A real highlight has been Rebbecca’s training sessions, with full rooms, great questions, and lots of people getting hands-on.

We’re back today and ready to go, see you there!

Are you heading to ABTT tomorrow? Here’s what you can expect from the Avolites team at the event over the next few days…

On stand A60 and in the palace suite, our team will be showcasing our consoles and software, ready to answer any questions you might have about using Avolites kit to control theatrical shows.

We also have an exciting lineup of workshops, training and talks taking place across the two days…

12.15-13.00: WORKSHOP
An Introduction to Theatre Programming
This short 45 min session with our specialist trainer Rebbecca Cadd is a great introduction to Avolites Titan software and will be specifically focused on learning how easily it is to program for a theatre style show. Places are limited to 12 per session so sign up early!

15.15 - 15.45: SEMINAR
Avo 50 and beyond...
Join the team behind Avolites as part of their 50th year celebration; to review the past and consider the demands that the future holds. You’ll have an opportunity to ask your questions to the team, too.

Avolites Training
This 90 minute, hands-on training session with Rebbecca Cadd is a longer introduction to the Avolites Titan software, allowing you to learn how easy it is to program and operate a show. Places are limited to 12 per session so sign up on the day for your chance to get a place.

Thursday June 4th
10.30 -12.00: TRAINING

Are you in the competition to win the Golden Console?

If you’re on the leaderboard but not in first place, don’t forget that you don’t have to be No.1 on the board at the end of the competition to take home the console.

The top 50 with the highest number of tokens will be entered into a final draw to decide who will win our 24k gold-plated D3-010.

It’s four months until we announce the winner of the Gold Console during PLASA in London this September, which is plenty of time to earn more points.

So, keep collecting those tokens, and take a look at our competition T&Cs to make sure you’re using every opportunity you can to increase your total.

If you’re looking to get more confident with lighting, the Avolites Academy is a great place to start. It’s all about learning how to use our consoles in a practical, straightforward way - whether you’re completely new or already have some experience.

We usually recommend starting with Level 0. It’s aimed at beginners and covers the basics - aspects like different fixture types, how DMX works, key terminology, and getting started with a showfile on the Titan range. From there, you can move on to Level 1 (Intermediate) to build your operating skills, and then Level 2 (Advanced) if you want to get deeper into programming and really make the most of the system.

It’s a relaxed, hands-on way to build your skills step by step, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and learn properly from the ground up.

We’ve got upcoming dates in both the 🇬🇧 UK and 🇺🇸 US, you can book using the link below:

Our Avo 50 Ambassador Steven Abbiss was at Radio 1’s Big Weekend on Friday, lighting Fat Boy Slim’s packed show on the Main Stage.

Fat Boy Slim kicked off the festival as the first night headliner, with Steven controlling the set with 2 X D7 consoles and 4 X TNPs.

It’s exactly the sort of environment the D7 is meant for: powerful enough for a high-impact headline show, but still compact enough to take on tour, share desk space and take to the festival circuit.

Well done on a great show Steven, it was a fantastic way to get the Big Weekend started.

Get ready to roll, we’re taking our time capsule back to the 80s.

It was the decade we introduced the milestone QM500-TD, bringing DSP processing to lighting control for the first time.

The fan favourite Rolacue was also introduced, giving LDs an easy way to roll to each cue.

Avolites was also bought by United Engineering Industries, which later became part of the Carlton group.

Have you got an Avolites memories from the 80s? Share your shows, stories and photos, using (there’s a chance to win more Gold Tokens if you do).

We’ve had an amazing time at Entech Roadshow in Sydney and Brisbane, two hugely successful shows with a fantastic turnout.

What made it extra special? Seeing so many of you getting involved with the Golden Console - lots of tokens collected and plenty of competition over both days.

At the stand, we’ve been showcasing the D3-110 and been holding demos throughout the day. A big highlight was our ambassador Ruben Laine delivering a brilliant talk - setting the tone and drawing a great crowd at the stand.

Next stop, we’re heading your way…
📍 Adelaide
📍 Melbourne
📍 Perth

If you’re joining us over the next few weeks, come by, say hello, and get involved!
