Beacon has been a very special journey for me. What began in London, before travelling to Milan, now sits in Jan Palach Square in the heart of Prague, and in many ways, this feels like a homecoming. Created in the Czech Republic in collaboration with BROKIS at their incredible factory, there is something very meaningful about seeing Beacon return here and take its place within the city. Surrounded by Prague’s extraordinary historical and cultural architecture, the installation feels completely at home, yet still creates its own presence within the square. Seeing it illuminated here has been a very special moment, and a wonderful conclusion to this chapter of Beacon’s journey….Lee x

My first newspaper article written by me, a guest column for the Financial Times is out today. I have always been a visual thinker and a storyteller rather than a writer, but putting years of thoughts, experience and instinct around lighting into words was unexpectedly rewarding. It has also given me an even greater appreciation for the journalists who have written about me and my work over the years, writing really is an art in itself. Thank you for giving me the opportunity, and Lucy Watson and The Design Collective for helping bring it together. Perhaps putting pen to paper rather than pencil to sketchbook could be the start of something new…. LEE x
