John Amabile Design creates stylish, luxurious interiors –from full home makeovers to commercial spaces– across the UK and beyond. John Amabile is an award winning media personality, TV presenter, event host and interior designer. After gaining a degree in interior design, John worked in set design for television and progressed onto appearing in many ITV design shows and occasional chat show guest

. He appeared on the ITV show Better Homes with Carol Vorderman and offered design advice on GMTV. He now appears in the ITV afternoon show, 60 Minute Makeover, is an Ideal Home Show Amassador and presents and hosts a number of charity events. After huge demand for the John Amabile "WOW factor" at accessbile high-stree prices, John launched his new online design service "Room in a Box" and "Gift of a Lifestyle" in 2017. Each session is 3 hours of creativity and planning as I walk you through how to approach a room the way a designer does ✨

You can come along with a room (or just an idea!) in mind. Bring along plans, photos, or, if you’re starting from scratch, even bits of inspiration!

All sessions are relaxed and hands-on, and you’ll have the opportunity to create your own mood boards from a created, crafted selection of samples on the day! 🎨

At the design school, I’ll show you how to layer contrasts and textures that reflect your own creativity and personality through design ✨

The way I like to build a mood board? Start with one feature piece and let everything flow from there.

For this mood board, it was this neutral wallpaper with metallic details running through it.

I brought in touches of black for contrast, before softening everything with upholstery fabrics, soft furnishings and layered textures that could be used for throws or cushions.

I also selected some gorgeous voile fabric for the window area, but every mood board needs that ‘Oh Wow’ factor, so I finished it of with some really zany curtains and a pop of colour!
