When HIVE Community and Cafe was opened in November 2021 it was just one of a record-breaking number of 12,000 social enterprises set up in the UK during the pandemic in 2021.

Now The Hive is a busy café and a vibrant community hub in the centre of Huddersfield running employability skills training and volunteering opportunities for adults with additional needs.

Social enterprises and community businesses are great for the local economy, creating local jobs and supporting local people, and that includes the many cafes and restaurants run as social enterprises in our area.

If you’ve got an idea for a café, coffee truck or restaurant and are looking to reinvest some or all of your profit back into the community to help achieve or create positive social change then we’d like to hear from you.

Come and get your hands inky and your creativity flowing in this mid-week taster session workshop which will introduce you to the technique of screen-printing with stencils!

Our taster sessions offer a brief introduction to some of the key printmaking techniques practiced here at WYPW, and a glimpse into the processes involved in creating hand-made prints. You will be guided and encouraged by experienced artists who use printmaking in their own art practice, in a professionally equipped workshop setting.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, organised, friendly and creative people to join our team. We’re looking for a Creative Producer (Exhibitions and Gallery) and a Marketing and Retail Officer, both 15 hours a week until 31 March 2026. Its an exciting time to join the team with big plans ahead and as we have just been awarded National Portfolio Organisation status again by the Arts Council.
