September incoming
For those new to my account, I love autumn. The colours the scent and textures.
The lower sun in the sky, shorter days, those sultry mists and morning dew, everything about autumn from harvesting autumn fruits and vegetables to the transition from summer to winter. I wholeheartedly embrace every nuanced second of it.
September begins simply as late summer but slowly takes our hand and leads us into autumn 🍂

This month I’m starting early with two weddings this week, I often take time out during September apart from it being my wedding anniversary month, I often take it as a time to pause and take in the last vestiges of summer.

All the credit for this image goes to Film Wedding Photographer | James Richard alongside our beautiful June bride Georgie Bennett the lovely Georgiana who drew the inspiration for their wedding colour scheme from her now husband’s check trews!
Red and blue with a touch of yellow was my brief - not for the feint hearted but G knew her mind! I loved that about her from our first meeting.

I chose peonies because frankly it should be the law in June, blue delphinium was a perfect contrast- a deep strong shade - it needed to be in order to hold its own with those gorgeous peonies. A touch of yellow came in an unusual twist, I chose Gloriosa Lilies- they’re actually a vine and their presence was just a squiggle around the edges. Sweet peas also adding a flutter as opposed to a drenching of colour - bright and beautiful amongst other supporting role flowers. This is a bouquet I admire for its one off uniqueness. Everything I love in a bouquet in fact - all the elements that tie it to Georgiana were here. When I saw this image, I thought to myself my work is done! I did what I set out to do.

So when I say my work is carefully curated, thoughtfully composed and knowledgeably executed and importantly unapologetically not following the crowd, this is what I mean. One should stand out for all the right reasons and this dear reader, did just that!

August 6th
Grapes from the garden- planted to provide some natural shade over the table, tomatoes from the greenhouse which, truth be told, are ok but not nearly as abundant as I’d expected. Miscellaneous leftover blooms from this weeks commissions bolstered by my crop of cosmos. I’ve got white and orange the latter of which are actually a favourite this year.

A quieter week which I’m making the most of. A bit of fannying about in the work room is always a pleasure. You what they say about all work and no play… well it’s absolutely true.

A new venue right on my doorstep, I was thrilled to arrange its first ever wedding there.
I’m certain it’s going to host some absolutely epic events going forward.

July: a month of unbroken sunshine, record temperatures, a World Cup and for me a wedding g florist, a rare window to get away to my happiest of places that is Cornwall. Not that I am not happy flowering up the most beautiful of events, but it’s so rare thereks a window in my diary to make time to not be working in the season that is otherwise known as the wedding g season … and for good reason.
The weather has been cruelly hot, sweltering heat - day and night, endless sunshine but oh my goodness so HOT! We florists take on additional angst when our weddings are al fresco! It may seem incongruous but cut flowers really do not like full sunshine and so many weddings these days are outside in gardens. This means we have to make large installations and pedestals at speed, praying that the flowers hold up for the ceremony.
That said, gardens up and down the land are parched, dried, stressed and brown or bleached and crispy. It feels like late August rather than the fist of the month, the blackberries are tiny and already black and the leaves are falling even though the schools have only just broken up.
Such is summer 2026, a whole month still to go. I am already dreaming of layers and an evening nip in the air!

Here’s a glimpse of my July, there are no holidays going forward in August for me but plenty of weddings, flowers and best days to come.

July you have been fun, hot and sweaty, dry and arid but fun and flower filled.

I’m Linz, I’m a florist not an influencer, nor a performing artist, all singing, all dancing on reels with endless streams of content No sir, that’s not what I do.
My work is arranging beautiful, opulent exquisite and unforgettable flowers for occasions where beautiful and unforgettable are what really matters - so that’s what I’ll continue to do.

Must dash, work to do, flowers to arrange and deliver.
0h yes and a life to live!

I confess, I've become a reluctant instargrammer, I love being a florist, love working with and for enthusiastic clients, I embrace the seasons to create truly unique flower combinations that say as much about the time of year as they do about a couple.
I've just lost the need to post daily, even weekly, it's not what it used to be and worse, everyone seems to be an expert in something (when clearly they aren't).
So I've stepped away a little and post mostly snippets on my stories.
Thing is, I Iove creating bespoke florals for my couples and clients, I also love to see the flowers bring everything together on the day. Taking an idea, a word or a sentiment and translating it into a visual 'thing'.
Also, I'm a busy florist, busy doing flowers, busy with life, busy colouring in all the details for these uniquely special days.
So when Amy sent me a thank you note with the link to her photos, I was reminded just how important it is to choose REALLY good suppliers for your very special day.
I know how expensive getting married is, I know couples often have to proioritise the important details - the non negotiables. If flowers are impoortant to you, they have to truly sing, not just fill a space and if that's the case, maybe I'm the florist for you?
Good floristry can truly distinguish your day like nothing else. Combine with superlative photography, in this case the excellent Studio Rouge you know you're onto a winning formula!

This was early May, late spring and early summer flowers, Amy wanted bright, wild and untamed florals with a nod to her Scottish herirage. We repurposed ALL her flowers - both aisle posies and maids bouquets; (they're far too beautiful to cast aside after the ceremony), I often repurpose as beautiful abundant table centres in beautiful vases and let them sing a while longer.

It's always such a joy to see your vision come together and its why I'm delighted to share these photos, I hope you enjoy them too. x

British Flowers Week
My first foray into using locally grown flowers was 2012, it wasn’t easy, many florists warned me it was a second rate product. I was one of the first event florists to turned up at the FFTF meet ups back then in Collumpton. I wanted to represent the needs of an event florist rather than a horticultural perspective. I needed consistency, quantity and quality.
If you don’t have enough exactly when you need it, I can’t do my job properly. Simple as that.
I met James from Flowers By Clowance and I met lots of enthusiastic flower folk - ALL of us wanted the same thing: To bring back a thriving flower community and put seasonal flowers back on the menu.
Customers had virtually no awareness or understanding of what was or wasn’t “in season” It was very hit and miss but I stuck with it because I could see how much better floristry was for seasonal shifts - I was engaged, beguiled and saw a facet to floristry that was never taught at college.
Fast forward to 2026 and seasonality is very much part of the landscape. The situation is beyond anything I could’ve imagined in my wildest dreams!
As I sit here planning two weddings for next weekend, ordering in June means I begin with local flowers first - ones that give me genuine Berkshire/ Hampshire beauty right here, right now. They give me quality and with luck quantities - incredibly there’s not always enough such is the demand - who knew this would be my reality? !Never in a million years did I think kimberly fleming ~ the marlston farmgirl would tell me, “put your order in now Linz, I don’t think I can give you that many next week, I’ve almost sold out” but it’s true. I’m blessed to have a career that has seen so much change, not always local, I simply cannot do my job year round relying on locally sourced materials, as much as I’d like to say it’s possible, I’m after all a commercial business and a realist. But my goodness it’s an incredible achievement this revolution that has occurred in just over a decade.
Here’s a little vase picked from my own garden today: borage, pansies sweet peas astrantia and a single rose. Three cheers to everyone who helped bring about this flower revolution. Long may it flourish. 🫶

It’s been a pretty but busy week out front and behind the scenes on many levels but you’re here for the flowers so here are a few highlights from my iPhone on the bench and out on location.
Lots of locally grown flowers this week embellished with a few special ingredients.

First up for Emma who married Chris on Thursday - a beautiful soft floaty buttermilk palette at Silchester Farm (more professional photos anon) the perfect backdrop to their beautiful wedding day.

Then back home to some elegant and floaty summer vibes for a ladies day corporate event in the Berkshire countryside. Delicately floaty florals in watercolour pastels and white.
And finally for Grace, who married Jonathan today - a virtual hand held meadow of wild styled flowers in pretty pastels with a smidge more intensity in colour and texture with buttercups and quaking grasses as well as pretty pansies.

Rain definitely did not stop play flower friends; happiness cannot be dampened by a little much needed rainfall (How very British)!

Flaming June: I bloody love it !

All the Abundance, proper summertime, longest days and let’s face it everything and everyone looks better, feels better is just more EXTRA in June.

Here’s a few snippets from 2025 plus a few bonus memories from 24.
From our take on the hanging gardens of Babylon vibe for Lulu & Rae at Loft studios NW10 to quintessential English landscapes & stately homes in delicate pastels for Sophie and Huw at Englefield House then there was the HOTTEST day of the year for René and Ollie in the Cotswolds - who somehow appropriately co-ordinated their florals in hot pink and orange!

It’s always been my philosophy at The White Horse Flower Company to create unique, unscripted floral recipes, no premeditated and pre ordered flower combos, I prefer to put all my faith in the serendipity of the moment. Which is exactly what I’m doing this week with three gorgeous events being tee’d up.

June 1st, I’ve seven fabulous weddings this month and I’m absolutely raring to go!
