On Monday evening I heard a car horn sound outside my house and then my phone rang.
I went outside to be greeted by one of my old visitors to my shop.
When I was closing the shop I mentioned that I had a crudely made pouch,made from the faded blue and white striped cloth that I had from an old Soldier that he kept from the liberation of a camp with his old cap badge and patches.
I had never thought of selling them and they lived in my office draw for 2 years.
After a brief conversation,I gave them to him .
The man told me that he had just returned from the camp where he had lost most of his family .
He had not visited for 25 years and could enter the gates.
He buried the pouch outside.
After a glass of wine,he explained that he was Romani and left with a hug..
God he told me "Had never left them"
