Something a little different created today at Milly’s Florist, ready for a very special farewell tomorrow.

A beautiful heart-shaped tribute bursting with colour, lovingly created to celebrate a life and the precious memories left behind.

Funeral flowers don’t always have to be traditional. Sometimes a splash of colour says so much more. 🌸

💙🐴 A LITTLE BIT OF LUCK, A WHOLE LOT OF LOVE! 🐴💙

There’s just something about creating a horseshoe tribute that I absolutely love! 💙

Here are two of my finished horseshoes, one 2ft and one 4ft, both lovingly handcrafted with beautiful white flowers, striking royal blue roses and those gorgeous finishing touches.

Horseshoes have always been a symbol of luck, love and protection, making them such a meaningful way to say a final goodbye. 🕊️

❤️ BEHIND EVERY FLORAL TRIBUTE, THERE IS A HUMAN HEART. ❤️

Something I feel needs to be said…

People often see the beautiful flowers we create, the funeral tributes, the unusual designs and the finished arrangements.

But what they don’t always see is the person behind them.

Florists cry too. 💔

Sometimes, while we’re creating a final goodbye for somebody else’s loved one, we’re quietly remembering someone we’ve lost ourselves.

Sometimes a particular song, a name, a photograph or even a certain flower can bring back memories that we thought we’d learned to live with.

And sometimes, we stand there in our workshops, surrounded by flowers, with tears rolling down our faces.

But we carry on.

Because we know that what we’re creating isn’t just an arrangement of flowers.

It’s somebody’s final goodbye. Somebody’s mum, dad, husband, wife, child or best friend.

We put our hearts into our work because we understand how much those final flowers mean.

And that’s why I find some of the cruelty on social media so heartbreaking.

Behind every video, every photograph and every creation is a real person.

Someone who works hard, someone who has feelings, someone who may be fighting battles you know absolutely nothing about.

You don’t have to like everything you see. You don’t have to agree with everything someone does.

But you can always choose kindness.

I’ve experienced loss myself, and I know what it feels like to say goodbye to someone you love.

Maybe that’s why I put so much emotion into what I create.

Because to me, these aren’t just flowers. They’re love, memories and final goodbyes.

So before leaving an unkind comment on someone’s work, please remember that you have no idea what that person might be going through.

Florists have feelings. Florists have memories. Florists grieve too.

And sometimes, the person creating something beautiful for another family’s heartbreak is quietly carrying their own. 💔🌹

Be kind. It costs absolutely nothing.
