Congratulations Jaye Western and 💕💕. What a privilege to “do” the florals for this beautiful couple last Sunday at the stunning Offley Place - Hertfordshire Wedding Venue
Timeless blues and whites with a touch of whimsy was the brief and it was an absolute joy to work up the designs with Jaye & Rob. Knowing the bride since she was 7, and the fact she’s now our crazy dog’s vet, made this “job” extra special and gave me the opportunity to get to know her lovely Groom Rob who fantastically took a huge interest in developing the floral designs with me 🥰. With key guests staying in the main house we decided to not only decorate the conservatory for the ceremony and the ballroom for the reception (& the conservatory again for breakfast the next day!) but also the central staircase ….. and wow what a treat this was …… especially as it was my first staircase and we only had an hour to make it!! But with my brilliant team to help, support and guide we did it! Happy 1st Anniversary to this gorgeous couple 💒💕Can’t believe it’s a whole year since their “I Do” day and what wonderful memories we all have. Making Amelia’s bouquet and the rest of the bridal party flowers was something I’d relished as it’s not every day you get to make your daughter’s wedding flowers. The bouquets were fine but buttonholes were a different matter ….. time had run away with me with the myriad of other things going on in the lead up to the big day so I ended up making them on the morning of the wedding - far from ideal but what I hadn’t factored in was shaking hands ….. not from nerves but pure adrenaline! They took twice as long as they should have and made me late for my hair and makeup slots ….. if only I’d listened to other florists’ advice and just stuck to the bouquets!! But all was fine in the end and now every time I see a photo of John or others in the bridal party wearing their buttonholes it brings back the heightened mix of emotions that are an inevitable and special part of a family wedding day ❤️

Happy Anniversary to this gorgeous couple ~ the beautiful Olivia and Ashley 💖
Their wedding holds a very special place in my heart as it was the first big wedding I flowered whilst limping out of lockdown, back in August 2021. Virtually all our pre planning meetings had been held on zoom and when we were allowed to meet, not long before the wedding and outside only, I was surprised to see how tall Olivia actually was! Some hasty bouquet design adjustments were made as a result!

During the planning stage I also got to know Olivia’s lovely mum and how could I ever forget her beautiful and apt name of Rosemary, sprigs of which featured throughout the flowers.

Why am I only sharing these photos now you may ask? The truth is I’ve been “saving” them for a website revamp - I knew from our pre wedding chats that Sarah Brookes | Photographer would capture some stunning shots throughout the day and she, Olivia and Ashley very kindly said I could use whichever ones I wanted for the new website. However, life took over, the revamp didn’t happen and I’m now facing facts that I’m not able to take on big weddings at the moment so the wedding website update won’t be happening any time soon. I am of course sad about this but the upside is I now freelance when I can….and this means working with some incredible wedding florists and teams when I get to just turn up, create with gorgeous blooms and not do any of the pre planning or admin …….so every cloud has a silver lining and all that!!

However it’s been an ongoing niggle that these photos (most taken by the incredible Sarah Brookes | Photographer) should be shared here and so to celebrate Olivia and Ash’s 5th Wedding Anniversary here they are! Olivia knew exactly what she liked and the brief was for all British blooms in bright pastels with nothing too “matchy matchy”. Storms the week beforehand scuppered crops of roses but with August being a bountiful month there were still lots of other flower varieties. It was such fun and an honour to work up the designs with Olivia and her mum…..and we still meet up to reminisce about their beautiful wedding day! ❤️❤️

Wow that was a scorcher!! What a fabulous wedding day A & E had at the stunning last Friday with so much sun and happiness 💓 Keeping ceremony blooms fresh in 33 degrees of heat with no shade was a bit of a challenge but we left the urns in the shade until the last possible moment and then moved them into the beautifully air conditioned Tudor Barn ready for the wedding breakfast as soon as we could afterwards. Cool air and more water and they were soon revived and even decorated the breakfast barn the following morning!

Winter sun (for a brief moment) and beautiful bright Cornish daffodils are a great mood enhancer on January days. 800 daffodils packed and ready to be delivered, in a variety of glass vases, to the venue of a very special birthday celebration 🌼 .

Bouquets ready and waiting for delivery to the Bride and her Maids🧡 Handing over the bouquets is always one of my favourite parts of the day - you can just feel the heady mixture of emotion, excitement and of course a few nerves thrown in too. And the best reaction a wedding florist can receive is tears…. of joy of course!

Warning - I’ll be sharing LOTS of images from the fabulous wedding of George & Verity last weekend but to start with here’s just a few of their Autumn inspired top table! Vast majority of the flowers and foliages were locally grown and my local flower farmers and came up trumps with beautiful seasonal blooms in an Autumn palette.

So it’s definitely not sunny in North Hertfordshire at the moment but these big blousy yellow blooms certainly let us pretend it is! 🌻 Gorgeous sunflowers from where you can pick your own bouquet of sunshine today and tomorrow only - the forecast is getting better! A beautiful tranquil setting in the heart of the countryside. Sunflowers from and all the rest from …… love it when all my flowers and foliage have been grown just a few miles away
