A classic pattern, redefined.

Herringbone is timeless but scale and layout can completely transform the feel of a floor.

Here we’ve installed a large format, bespoke double herringbone using rustic oak blocks, creating a pattern that feels both traditional and architectural.

The larger blocks give the floor presence.
The double layout adds rhythm and depth.
And the natural variation in the rustic oak keeps it grounded and full of character.

It’s a subtle shift from the norm, but one that makes a real statement.

Design is often about taking something familiar… and doing it differently.

There are many ways to incorporate a brass inlay within a floor and each one depends on the design, the material, and the way the floor is being installed.

In this project, we’re forming a bespoke border using a 10mm solid brushed brass inlay, carefully set into barn grade oak planks, distressed and oiled to bring out their natural character.

The contrast works quietly but powerfully…. warm oak tones against the clean, refined line of brass.

Every strip is measured, cut, and set by hand to ensure a seamless finish through the border.

A small detail… but one that completely elevates the floor.

Rustic oak engineered plank fitted on this one, featuring a bevelled edge and a lightly distressed finish to give it that natural, lived-in look.

Finished with two coats of hardwax oil for a durable, low-sheen finish that really brings out the character in the grain.

Bespoke flooring with real character.

This oak floor features hand scraped and hand-eased edges with a very subtle bandsawn texture, giving the boards an authentic, time-worn feel while still keeping the surface refined and elegant.

The timber was smoked and hand-oiled (Satin), enhancing the natural grain and depth of colour while maintaining a traditional, handcrafted appearance.

Details like these create a floor that feels truly unique and full of character.

Another beautiful staircase transformation.

We clad these stairs in prime grade European oak, finishing the installation with bespoke oak stair nosings for a sharp look. The flooring continues onto the landing, where we created a 45° transition to follow the L-shaped landing layout, giving the space a clean and balanced finish.

Attention to detail is key 👌🏽

This amazing prime grade European beech herringbone parquet floor has been a feature of the hall for decades. Beech was commonly used in school halls across the UK because it is extremely durable and provides a consistent appearance across large spaces.

As part of the restoration we carried out a full professional sanding process before finishing the floor with Bona Traffic HD Matt, a commercial grade lacquer designed for high-traffic environments such as schools & busy halls.

The result is clean, fresh and durable!

A special one for us 🤍

We recently completed around 300m² of oak plank sanding and sealing at New Wardour Castle, working on one of the wings of this incredible Grade I listed building.
A mix of original boards and later planks, full of character, and an absolute pleasure to restore.

Huge thanks to Kev , who was an absolute hero throughout and kindly shared these photos with us.
As trades, we all know how hectic restoration sites can be… but this one was different.
Well organised, calm, and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish.
A brilliant opportunity and a real privilege to work in a building like this.

What made it even more impressive was seeing the wider team on site.
The decorators, restorers, and craftsmen working on this project were operating on another level of
the detail, the care, and the way they brought original features back to life was incredible to watch.
You can see the amount of skill and pride that goes into preserving a building like this.

✨ Prime Grade European Oak Throughout ✨
One of those installs where everything just comes together.
We completely transformed this home with prime grade European oak pre oiled, warm, and absolutely flawless.

The staircase?
Fully cladded and finished with a custom curved bottom step….. It’s a feature in itself.

Upstairs, every bedroom was stripped back and fitted with these beautiful oak planks, new skirting, clean lines, and a seamless flow throughout.

Shoutout to Mike, Ryan, and Charlie, unreal craftsmanship on this one. This is what attention to detail looks like. 🔥
