Quick and easy meal
What you will need.
Pork loin
Onions 🧅
Mushrooms 🍄‍🟫
Puff pastry 🥐
Extra mature cheddar cheese 🧀
Prosciutto ham 🥓
Field Lane Honey bees Hot honey 🍯

What I did. Cook onions and mushrooms, sear or brown the loin,
Roll out the pastry place the prosciutto on the pastry add your mushrooms and onions then lay out your pork loin, drizzle with hot honey add the cheese then roll together. Drizzle hot honey over the pastry. I covered it with foil cooked for 35 minutes then removed the foil cooked for a further 6 minutes to brown the pastry.
Total cost about £5 great value and really tasty add whatever vegetables you want and potatoes.

So many people have asked us about cut comb honey. What is it? What does it taste like? Can you eat the wax ? So a summary:

Honeycomb is the waxy, hexagonal-cell structure that honey bees build inside their hive. Bees make it from beeswax secreted from wax-producing glands situated on the underside of the worker bee’s abdomen. The cells are used to store honey, pollen and raise young bees.

Is it edible? Yes the honey contains antioxidants, natural sugars and traces of minerals. The wax itself can either be swallowed or discarded. If swallowed it passes mostly undigested but supports heart health, immune and throat support and digestive and oral health.

What does it taste like? Like all raw honey the taste will depend on the nectar sources however the chewing on the wax is that of a personal preference.
So to help you decide if it’s for you we’ve done some 2oz mini’s containing a bite size piece of honey comb.
They will be available in the shop this weekend 🐝🍯

Prepping for the weekend. Today I think we’ve had every season rolled into one. Thunderstorms, beautiful sunshine, hail showers, rain. The bees are still busy foraging when the weather holds. The ivy’s still flowering, dandelion, buddleia and bramble 😳 and we are surrounded by white mustard which has just come into bloom. We have a beautiful selection of honeys (the 2oz mini’s have been going like crazy) 🍯, candles, gifts, some new additions to paint your own honey pots, homemade scones, hot and cold drinks. The tastiest ice cream from Burgess Ice Cream Ltd😋 & vegetable soup with a roll. The weather looks good for the weekend so come along for a visit and a chat. 10-3. Hope to see you soon.
