We are a practice of RIBA Chartered Architects who strive to create beautiful and functional spaces.

Innovative design is produced to the highest technical standard.

When we design homes, we look at the big picture - of course we do - but we never neglect the small details.

Creating favourite spaces to get cosy on Sunday afternoons, room for the entire family to watch Celebrity Traitors... or to escape them all with a good book! It's all within our remit.

See more examples of our work on the OPEN architecture website.

🔸Dopamine decor!

As the weather turns cold and there are fewer daylight hours, the internal and exterior design of your home can lift the gloom. Did something about your home make you smile today? Are you looking for something to make you smile...

While some of us are boosted by the bold use of colour, natural light flooding into and around your home can also bring you joy, or an outlook with views over nature. Working out what's right for you and building it into your design, is down to a great architect-client collaboration.

If you want to explore changes to your home with an architectural practice who put understanding clients wishes at the top of the priority list, please give OPEN a call. We are always inspired by the people we work with:

This time last week we were invited to speak at the Construction Hub - a local networking group meets once a month at Wildernesse Golf Club in Sevenoaks. It's specifically for those working in prime property like ourselves. Always great to catch up with the other attendees and we've made valuable connections in planning, garden design, interiors, and bespoke carpentry, to name just a few.

Our presentation was a whistle-stop tour through the work that OPEN carry out in residential and commercial design. We also touched on our activity in the retail sector.

Jo and Paul explained about how we operate at OPEN, with every member of the team being hands-on with the design process, creating drawings and talking to clients. No-one is just overseeing operations. We're involved in the client journey from initial contact to completion.

Thank you to everyone who attended, who clearly share our enthusiasm for the topics of architecture, design, construction and providing the best in customer service. We had some great questions and conversations after the presentation!

An extension that has transformed the way this home is used. Our design allowed for a better internal flow and gave the family a light-filled kitchen/diner/snug which quickly became the beating heart of their home.

Before and After, Front and Back!

Our re-design of this well-loved family home has led to better visual balance, particularly at the rear of the property, and delivered a spacious interior that not only flows better but is now filled with light.

We particularly love the photograph of this home lit up from across the rear garden. Truly capturing the changes made!

📸Thanks to Mikey Reed for the professional photography.

We love it when clients embrace bold design choices. No-one stays blue when they come down these stairs in the morning! After re-configuring the building layout and a full renovation, this is a home that sings with colour and life, which reflects the lovely owners.

We are always inspired by the people we work with.

We are currently scheduling projects for 2027, please do give us a call or send an email if you would like to work with us on your future projects, commercial or residential: 01732 779 580 / [email protected]

What feature of your home gets your visitors talking or expressing house envy?

In this house, it's likely to be the bathroom that you didn't know was there!

When architects get the details right, and deliver features that you can't wait for your friends to see - that's when you know we've understood you as people, just as well as we've understood the build project.

Ideas are contagious. Share yours with us and let's start a conversation about how exciting your home extension, remodel or new build could be: [email protected]

What would you most like passed to you through this folding, sliding window in the endless hot weather?

🌻Suggestions put forward in the OPEN office to help you with your thinking:
a frozen Daiquiri
home-made lemonade
a pitcher of Pimms
a cooling breeze
a Magnum Gold Caramel Billionaire ice cream
a strawberry sandwich (Apparently you have to taste it to believe it)!

We get to know our clients and consult with them throughout a project so we can understand how their real lives are lived (and what their snack/tipple of choice may be!). We design homes that work for our clients for years to come.
