A real treat for this week and limited availability. The Stephania erecta (also known as Stephania pierrei) is a unique caudiciform houseplant from Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand. It is famous for its large, woody, potato-like base called a caudex, from which delicate, umbrella-shaped leaves sprout on slender vines Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the foliage. Watering: Water sparingly, roughly once a week during active growth. Let the soil dry out significantly (about 90%) between waterings. Never water directly onto the crown of the bulb to prevent rot.Soil: Use a very well-draining mix, such as a cactus or succulent potting soil with added pumice or perlite. Dormancy: This plant is deciduous and will naturally lose its leaves in autumn/winter. During this time, stop or significantly reduce watering and keep the bulb in a cool, dry place until spring.
