Lately I’ve been trying to just...wear the pieces I love. Every day. No hoarding in a drawer for later.

Whenever I post about living abroad, there are always comments that pop up such as ‘well if you don’t like it here, just leave’ or ‘why don’t you move back if you miss xyz’.

However, anyone who has moved away from their ‘home country’ knows that it’s not that black and white!

The curse of being an immigrant, expat, global citizen (whatever you want to call yourself), is always feeling torn between where you are and where you’ve come from. Even if it’s just fragments of longing or a niggling feeling that you’re missing out.

That’s the beauty of experiencing other countries and cultures - as you discover new things to love, you also appreciate and miss what you’ve left behind. And those two feelings can exist at the same time!
