π¨π ONE WHOLE YEAR OF THE HOMELEY HANDMADES! ππ¨
ππ₯³ Can somebody pinch meβ¦ where has that year gone?! π₯Ήπ
Today I'm celebrating ONE YEAR of The Homeley Handmades and what a journey it's been! ππ¨β¨
When I started this little adventure, I never imagined just how much I would learn, create, grow and discover about myself along the way.
This was never just about making things to sell. β€οΈ
It started as part of my healing journeyβ¦ finding a little peace through art, having something positive to focus on through grief, pain and difficult days, and creating a safe space where I could escape the noise of the world for a wee while. π¨π»
Over this past year, I've experimented with acrylic pouring, created colourful canvases, made wreaths for different seasons and celebrations, designed earrings, explored resin crafts, made little gifts filled with love, and discovered just how much joy creating can bring. πβ¨
I've learned that art doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful. Sometimes the most beautiful things come from the messiest pours, the unexpected colours and the days when you simply keep going. π¨β€οΈ
I've also learned that healing isn't a straight road. Fibromyalgia, arthritis and other health struggles have made this journey challenging, and there have been times when my hands and body have forced me to slow down when my heart wanted to keep creating.
But I'm still here. Still learning. Still dreaming. Still finding ways to share a little piece of myself through creativity. π
And goodness me, it's not just the art that's grown! ππ
I've faced my first stalls, put up my gazebo and banners, met people, shared my creations, learned about social media and built a lovely community around my little handmade world.
And nowβ¦ WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT I'D BE SINGING ON TIKTOK LIVE?! π€£π€π
I even took on a TikTok challenge to go LIVE for 30 minutesβ¦ and ended up spending around TWO HOURS on there, reaching 50K likes and taps! π²π₯³ A lovely lady from my singing group came along to support me, and I even had a sing myself! β€οΈ
For someone who never thought she'd be brave enough to do things like that, it feels like another little victory. π₯Ήπ
The Homeley Handmades has taught me that healing can happen in little steps, courage can grow in unexpected places, and it's never too late to try something new.
To everyone who has followed, liked, commented, shared my posts, encouraged me, bought something, supported my stalls, joined in with my little engagement posts or simply taken the time to say something kindβ¦
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. β€οΈ
Every single bit of support has meant more than you know. You aren't just supporting handmade crafts; you're supporting a woman trying to turn difficult experiences into something meaningful, one creation at a time. π
A special thank you to everyone who's encouraged me in my singing adventures too. π€β€οΈ Who knew a little handmade page would lead to me finding the confidence to sing in front of people online?! π
My little venture might still be growing, and my journey might look different from what I imagined, but I'm proud of how far I've come.
Here's to another year of learning, creating, healing, laughing, trying new things and being a little bit wild at heart! πππ¨
Remember, lovely people: you don't have to have it all figured out to begin. Sometimes the journey itself is where the healing happens. π»
With love, gratitude and a whole lot of glitterβ¦
