Ways with wood flooring 🪵
What do all of these kitchens have in common? Some sort of wooden flooring of course! We are big fans of wood or wood effect flooring in the kitchen for a few reasons:
1) It adds texture, which equals interest. Whether consisting of grains or knots there is natural variation. This means you can keep everything else simple and plain, but the space won’t seem stark.
2) Warmth! Wood flooring adds warmth to any space. If you want to go all grey and white with the rest totally fine because your space won’t ever seem cold and uninviting. Not to mention physical warmth - naturally warmer underfoot (both real wood and engineered or products like LVT) than stone, your toes won’t be as cold in the winter!
3) It is more forgiving than stone flooring. This is important if you’re clumsy like me - your phone or iPad might survive more drops than it would otherwise 😆💥
4) There are so many options you can find one you love - wide planks, lots of knots, a greyer whitewash, herringbone… All of these floors are wood, but they are all quite different, and they are all loved by our clients all over Hampshire & Berkshire.
When we design your kitchen we will advise on all aspects of the space - even those like flooring and paint that we may not necessarily be involved with the supply of. This is because we understand the whole space needs to work together, not just bits of it…
