It’s been a productive day so far on the farm! ✅

I’ve made a start pulling up the matting that is down on the paths. It served a purpose but I find some much starts to grow on top of it that it’s pretty pointless and it’s plastic which we’re trying to reduce!

So for now, I’ve cleared the paths along half of this stretch and the other half will be done soon.

I know Sarah from Sarah Gray is trialing some different planted paths so I’m keeping a close eye on her updates 👀 Has anyone else got any tried and tested path ideas?

Just a break on the grid from beautiful flowers to show the other side of flower farming!
Decided to use wooden fencing posts this year as the plastic electric post weren’t strong enough to support the dahlias last year. Hopefully they do the job!
My smallest helper is on his holidays so I roped in to help with the hard graft! See if you can see his technique for measuring the height of the posts…😊

I always set myself a list for each week night and never manage to get through it! Tonight wasn’t helped by the rain - managed to get some shop flowers cut before it arrived ☔️ and then we had an unexpected visitor that we needed to evacuate! A rabbit snuck through the open gate and into the greenhouse so we then spent 20 minutes trying to get it out! 🐰

This rain is very welcome though! 🎉
