Global North begins with the experience of arrival.

Warm, sophisticated lounges, meeting spaces and client-facing areas replace the conventional corporate office, with marble, timber, refined furniture and considered lighting creating a quiet sense of luxury.

Across informal lounges, focused meeting rooms and a relaxed cafeteria, the workplace balances an international character with a sense of ease.

A week of exploring architecture, art, design and the ideas that shape the way we experience spaces.

From V&A Museum and Roca London Gallery to V&A East Museum, V&A East Storehouse and the Barbican Centre, each visit offered a different perspective on design, culture, history and the built environment.

A highlight was The Architecture of Belonging: Unbuilt at Roca London Gallery, where Samta Nadeem from STIR was in conversation with Elsie Owusu OBE RA, Dr Torange Khonsari, J J Cliff of Studio Weave and Rhael LionHeart Cape, exploring ideas of architecture, community and belonging.

Observing, learning and bringing back new references and perspectives to the studio.

Serpentine Pavilion 2026

As part of the 25th edition, we visited “a serpentine”, the Serpentine Pavilion by LANZA atelier and found simplicity doing the heavy lifting. From its mortarless, reusable brick walls to the lightweight roof and terracotta paving, every element is designed with flexibility, reuse and interaction in mind.

A pavilion that is less about the object itself, and more about how people experience and use the space.

Revisiting The Shell.

A space imagined not just to be built, but to be explored, experimented with and shared. Set in Awas, Alibaug, The Shell has been conceived as a design lab and pavilion where ideas could take shape through workshops, conversations, and collaboration.

From reading sessions and research to screenings and concerts, the project continues to remind us that a space can be as much about expression as it is about design.
