The part of interior design you don't always see…

Hours spent comparing textures, finishes and details — because the smallest choices are often what make a space feel right.

One of my favourite things about designing Indian homes is finding ways to bring our traditions into the design without making them feel dated.

This mandir design was created for a bungalow where traditional details, Pichwai art and contemporary interiors could sit together beautifully.

Lighting can completely change how a home feels — and you don't always need an expensive fixture to get the right effect.

For me, good home lighting design is about layering different sources rather than relying on one ceiling light in every room. Pendant lights add personality, wall sconces and cove lighting bring warmth, floor lamps finish awkward corners, and the right chandelier can make a space feel instantly more inviting.

And then there are the underrated ones — picture lights. They're one of those small interior design details that can make an entire wall feel considered, not just illuminate the artwork.

But I know some of these scores are going to be controversial. 👀
Which lighting fixture would you score differently?

A bathroom can look beautiful in a render, but the details you don't notice at first are usually the ones you'll appreciate every single day.

When I'm designing a bathroom interior, I think about both sides of it — how it looks and how it actually works. Tile sizes that make cleaning easier, a shower niche that is planned rather than added later, concealed storage that keeps the counter clear, and lighting that actually works for your face in the mirror.

Because a luxury bathroom design isn't about adding expensive finishes everywhere. It's about getting the small decisions right — the ones that make the space feel cleaner, calmer and easier to live with.

And there's one bathroom design detail I almost always see people miss. 👀

The most luxurious living rooms aren't the ones with the biggest chandeliers or the most expensive furniture.

They're the ones where every element knows its role.

In this double-height living room, nothing is trying to steal the spotlight. The statement wall, the custom entrance doors, the textures, the furniture, the lighting—each detail supports the next instead of competing with it.

That's something I think is often overlooked in luxury interior design. A home starts feeling chaotic when every corner is asking for attention. The spaces that stay timeless are usually the ones that feel balanced.

When I'm designing a home, I'm not thinking about individual pieces. I'm thinking about how they'll all come together to create one feeling the moment you walk in.

What's the first thing your eyes noticed in this space?

One of the biggest reasons people regret their home interiors isn't bad taste—it's bad advice.

As an interior designer, I hear the same interior design myths over and over.

❌ White sofas don't work if you have kids.
❌ Every home needs a false ceiling.
❌ More storage is always better.
❌ Interior designers are only for luxury homes.

Some of these are myths. Some are facts. And believing the wrong one can cost you money, make your home less functional, or leave you with design decisions you'll regret later.

If you're planning a home renovation, designing a modular kitchen, building your dream home, or simply love interior design and home decor, this reel might save you from making an expensive mistake.

The biggest mistake people make with small home interiors is thinking they simply need less furniture.

That's rarely the problem.

As an interior designer, I've seen compact homes feel calm, open and luxurious—not because they were bigger, but because every design decision was intentional.

The wall colour. The lighting. The flooring. The furniture legs. The storage. These details quietly decide whether a room feels spacious or cramped.

If you're designing a small apartment, renovating a compact home, or looking for practical interior design tips, don't start by asking "What should I remove?" Start by asking "What decisions will make this space work harder?"

Sometimes, the smallest design changes create the biggest difference.

One of the biggest myths in kitchen design is that everything has to match.

As an interior designer, I often do the opposite.

Mixing materials, finishes and textures in a modular kitchen adds depth, breaks visual monotony and gives the space far more character than using the same cabinet style throughout.

It's a small interior design decision that most people don't notice consciously—but it's one of the reasons professionally designed home interiors feel layered, thoughtful and timeless.

Would you choose matching cabinets, or would you mix materials like this? 👇

What happens when an **interior designer** and an **interior stylist** sit down to talk about **home interiors**?

No rehearsed answers. No industry jargon. Just honest opinions on budgets, clutter, lighting, styling, common design mistakes, and the things homeowners worry about far more than they should.

You'll probably agree with some of our takes. You might completely disagree with others. And that's exactly what makes conversations like these interesting.

If you're planning your **home interiors**, a **home renovation**, or you're simply looking for practical **interior design tips**, this conversation is for you.

The beauty of a well-designed home is often found in what isn’t there.

This modern living room is a study in thoughtful restraint — where every element has a purpose and every detail has room to breathe.

From the floating TV unit and suspended shelves to the soft layered lighting and textured limewash wall, this space is designed to feel calm, warm, and effortlessly luxurious.

Because luxury interior design isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes, it’s about knowing exactly what to leave out.

A home that doesn’t just look beautiful — but feels like home.
