"French toast" is not French🤓
Hello Momshies welcome to Cook&Tell ep.05

Well at least the name for this comforting bread 🤓 By legend,the name " French toast " was first served and advertised by an American inn keeper Joseph French in 1724 in New York. Forgetting to put an apostrophe ☺️ to possess the dish.

🌸 French Toast 🌸

But the way of preparing stale or old bread dipped into eggs and milk then fried in butter to extend it for consumption dates back to the 4th Century AD. Romans called it Pan Dulcis. The Europeans adopted it and coined many names.

France had their version called Pain Perdu ( lost bread)
Germans called it Arme Ritter ( poor knights)
Spain call it Torrijas usually soaked in wine during Lent.

It's amazing to know that not all food names explain its origin.

Bretzel, Sausage with saurkraut, BbQ.ribs, pork belly with potato salad and best of all the grilled mackerel ☺️🌸🍻 Prost!

Best time to visit - early September unless you want to be at the October Fest ☺️,🍺

- pretty much like our crispy pata but cooked and flavoured differently.

Add up the best place to enjoy it ☺️🍺 HB- Hofbräuhaus München the beer hall dating back to 16th century.
