They can be used to precisely direct the light with any softbox without sagging, in an area up to 20-ft x 20-ft. DoPchoice’s proprietary Snap Technology, revolutionary self-tightening Snapframes and an innovative mounting system make a gaffer’s life easier by ensuring a taut fit when grids are used in a softbox or frame. Patented Snapgrids® utilize this technology for an all-in-one solution. They combine DoPchoice’s self-tightening solution with an instant snap-up softbox. No speed rings are needed, so less can go wrong. Tightening takes about 30 seconds. Patented Snapbags efficiently create soft light with no spill. They are designed for lighting an area up to 8ft by 8ft, and maximize the use of light without needing black flags to prevent spill. After work, all DoPchoice gear packs up in seconds.

Director of Photography Jean‑François Hensgens lit L'Affaire Marie-Claire, premiering at the Cannes Film Festival, using Airglow and LiteMat fixtures.

The film, starring Charlotte Gainsbourg and Cécile de France, is set in the 1970s and centres around lawyer and activist Gisèle Halimi and her defence of young Marie-Claire Chevalier (Saul Benchetrit) in a landmark case that helped pave the way for abortion rights in France.

Produced by Gaumont, L'Affaire Marie-Claire takes an intimate approach, focused around three main locations and shot over 33 days. To light the film, the DP chose the Airglow from DoPchoice:

“The effect on Charlotte’s face convinced us. The lightweight and compact accessory simplified the work on set, creating a soft and creamy light source using just a single stand.”

“As a chef chooses spices, we choose tools: lenses, filters, lighting. Airglow became an integral part of the image,” says the cinematographer, who shot the film on practical locations across Paris.
