Zalita

Visual Artist | Malaysia
Acrylic • Mixed Media • Contemporary Art

Zalita is a Malaysian visual artist whose work explores heritage, identity, resilience, nature and the human experience through colour, texture and symbolism.

After leaving the corporate world, she returned to art with renewed purpose, inspired by her late father, an art teacher who first introduced her to the expressive power of painting. Her practice became both a personal awakening and a continuation of his creative legacy.

Blending Malaysian cultural influences with a contemporary approach, Zalita creates layered works that carry stories of memory, transformation, faith and hope—inviting viewers to pause, connect and discover their own meaning.

For Zalita, every artwork is a meeting place between heritage and imagination, expressing what words sometimes cannot.

Hasbunallah Wanikmal Wakeel

This painting speaks to me in a very personal way.

The broken textures, deep colours and golden Arabic calligraphy remind me that life can become complicated, heavy and uncertain — yet there is still beauty and faith within the struggle.

Sometimes, when I feel tired and surrounded by difficult circumstances, I remind myself that every dark layer is only part of the story. I may bend, I may hurt, but I must keep going.

The golden words stand out like a light in the darkness — a reminder to hold on to hope, even when the heart feels tired.

Mix Media | RM3,200
An artwork about strength, faith, and finding light in difficult times.
