We first partnered with our client in late 2024 as they explored a move after 10 years in their previous space. CPRW provided support and direction from feasibility studies and test-fits, through to landlord negotiations, base-build upgrades, and project completion.

With the landlord providing the hard fit-out, our role focused on bespoke joinery design, furniture selection, lighting review, and developing the palette of colours, finishes, and specifications.

The result is a refined, contemporary workplace that reflects the client’s vision and supports the way they work today—and into the future.

A big thank you to our client for the opportunity to be involved.

We have a few thank-yous to make.

Firstly, for the support shown to date by way of donations made in support of MATES in Construction New Zealand via our Give a Little page.

Secondly, to everyone who made the trip down SH1 to support CPRW’s Team Shake n Bake over 3 days of racing at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park.
Plenty of thrills and spills were had from green light to chequered flag in the very excellent Mega Motorsport NZMEGA MAYDAY! endurance event.

Finally, a HUGE thank you to our drivers, pit crew, other teams, and organisers, for making it such a fun and successful event.

There is still time to donate.

Later this year will mark 85 years since CPRW had its genesis as Massey Beatson Rix Trott Carter and Co.

Designed by Massey, Beatson, Rix-Trott, Carter & Co, the PYE Factory in Waihi survives as an example of post-war modernist industrial architecture.

Completed in 1962, the clean lines, functional form, and minimalist detailing of the building are symbolic of what had become a new era of technological advancement after WWII.

More than sixty years after it first opened, the building - designated Category B Heritage by Hauraki District Council - remains in use, serving as a reminder of the significant contribution to Waihi’s history and industrial legacy made by the local community and electronics industry.

Just passing through. But with time for a shoefie.
The beautiful main terminal expansion (by ZGF Architects) features some of the famous PDX carpet originally designed by SRG Partnership (now +CannonDesign) in 1987.

Another dip into the CPRW archives…
This time the spotlight is on a national monument.

140kms north of Auckland, the Coates Memorial Church sits on an elevated rural site within the Matakohe cemetery grounds.

Designed by founding partner, Horace Massey, the church was commissioned by the government in memory of the Right Honourable Joseph Gordon Coates, Prime Minister of New Zealand from 1925 – 1928. It opened in 1950.
Coates (also known as ‘the jazz premier’) was born February 3, 1878, on his family’s sheep and cattle farm (Ruatuna) in the Matakohe district.

Stay tuned, we’ll post some recent images of the church. Because, after 75 years of service to the local community, we think it still looks beautiful in its lovely country setting.

Later this year will mark 85 years since CPRW had its genesis as Massey Beatson Rix Trott Carter and Co.
