Working around what you already have.
There’s always that nosy auntie that will tell you to get it all made to measure, that built-ins make more sense because, while you’re at it, might as well, however it really doesn’t always have to be the case.
Sometimes certain furniture pieces are saved from a previous home, maybe they’ve moved with you through different spaces, or perhaps you find something that you really like - an optimised product that works specifically well for you - and our job is to only add on what is necessary, to develop designs that accommodate but also to serve you best, according to your needs.
In this case, a little alcove-like corner is carved out for a store-bought standing desk with bespoke carpentry built around it whilst maximising over head space for storage in the study.
