Most people wouldn’t paint an HDB ceiling black. We did 👀

The black boxed ceiling draws your eye to the dining area and gives it its own space within the open layout without adding a wall

We balanced it with white cabinetry, warm lighting and patterned tiles. Then open shelves gave the porcelain and tingkat a place in the design

Clearly, someone had priorities for this renovation

We worked a cosy cat nook into the under-stair cabinetry, alongside full-height storage for the humans

Because switching off is hard when your office is two steps from your pillow

A half-height wall topped with a grid-glass partition gives work and rest their own zones, while letting light pass through

This Executive Maisonette was designed around one thing the homeowners refused to replace.

Their old teak dining table.

Instead of changing it, we designed everything around it.

Warm white shaker cabinetry, brass details and encaustic tiles in clay, sage and terracotta bring out the warmth of the existing teak.

Tile defines the dining area while timber carries the living space, creating separation without another wall.

Even the bay window earns its keep, transformed into a built-in bench with hidden storage below.

The result? A modern colonial HDB that feels collected over time, rather than designed all at once.
