Do you believe in destiny?
Some call it coincidence, but I believe in the East Asian legend of 'The Red Thread of Fate'; an invisible string tied by destiny itself, connecting souls who are meant to meet.
The story of this thread is from the Chinese belief originating from Taoism. The legend begins with an old man named Yue Lao, the Old Man under the Moon. Yue Lao is the God of Love and Marriage, a quiet figure said to appear under moonlight, holding a red cord and a book of destinies. In that book, every destined relationship is already written. Not just romantic ones, but the people who's paths must cross to shape each others lives.
According to legend, Yue Lao walks the earth at night, tying the red thread between those fated to meet. No matter how tangled the journey becomes or how long it takes, his knot cannot be undone.
It's not about instant love; it's about timing, patience and the belief that life's connections are destined.
The red string isn't random, it represents the lifeblood of relationships. And a beautifully optimistic promise of enduring human connection.
I love believing we are all threads in the same unseen fabric, crossing, tangling, breaking and finding each other again.
That familiar feeling of 'it was meant to be', too meaningful to be random.
Those wonderful stories we all have of 'chance meetings'?...maybe they're not chance at all 🥰.
