Designed by our Seoul team for BYD this space brings together automotive display, hospitality, and biophilic design within one seamless customer experience. Clean architectural lines, integrated greenery, warm timber, and relaxed lounge settings soften the traditional showroom environment, while dedicated display and refreshment areas encourage visitors to slow down, explore, and engage with the brand.

The result is a contemporary retail environment where mobility, technology, and everyday comfort come together naturally.

How can a workplace feel high-performing without feeling corporate?

For this newly completed workplace for a global investment company, our design approach was shaped by three ideas: flow, warmth, and trust.

Sweeping curves guide movement naturally through the space, while warm timber, fluted glass, textured finishes, and carefully integrated lighting create a softer, more intuitive workplace experience. The result balances focus and privacy with openness, connection, and a hospitality-led sense of welcome.
A workplace that feels precise without being rigid and professional without losing its humanity.

The Porsche AG China One R&D Center in Shanghai transforms a former factory warehouse into a dynamic hub for innovation, collaboration and engineering.

Led by SL+A Shanghai, the project brings together Porsche’s performance-driven DNA with the energy of China’s evolving mobility landscape. From an aerodynamic façade inspired by automotive design to agile workplaces, smart building systems, adaptive reuse and carefully considered acoustic and material strategies, every element is designed to support both performance and people.

More than an R&D center, it is a physical expression of global engineering excellence shaped by local context — faster, smarter, more efficient and more human.

Some places are more than buildings. They carry memories. A familiar landmark begins a new chapter with the opening of voco hotels Kuching by IHG Hotels & Resorts in Malaysia, reimagined by SL+A Hotels, the hospitality division of Steven Leach Group.

Our guiding principle with Dato Bobby Ting was simple: “Do More With What Is Already There.” Rather than erase the existing property, we worked with it. Marble columns, ceilings, partitions and infrastructure were retained and reconsidered, with every new intervention carefully introduced to create an intentional dialogue between old and new.

The story unfolds differently throughout the hotel from the well-travelled spirit of LUMA, and the day-to-night energy of AMPM, to the bead-inspired Rainforest Ballroom and guestrooms renewed through our “keep, match, renew” approach.

Transformation, for us, was not about starting over.
It was about knowing what to keep, what to change, and what story to carry forward.
