Fiber content of the fabric matters. Fiber reactive dyes, like the ones I use, permanently bond with natural fibers… but not with synthetic fibers. The more synthetic fiber in the fabric, the more dye washes out resulting in less striking color and crisp details. This is one of the reasons why I choose garments with very high natural fiber content.
