💧 2. Don’t OverwaterOverwatering is the #1 killer of houseplants.Check the soil before watering. Stick your finger an inch into the soil — if it feels dry, water it.Use pots with drainage holes to prevent root rot.
☀️ 3. Give the Right Amount of LightDifferent plants need different light levels.Bright, indirect light: Most houseplants (like pothos, peace lily).Low light: Snake plant, ZZ plant.Direct sunlight: Succulents, cacti.Place plants near windows but avoid intense, direct afternoon sun unless they love it.
🪴 4. Use Good SoilUse potting mix specific to your plant type:Cactus/succulent soil for succulents.All-purpose potting mix for general houseplants.Avoid using outdoor garden soil indoors.
🍂 5. Watch for Signs of TroubleYellow leaves: Overwatering, poor drainage.Brown leaf tips: Low humidity, underwatering, or over-fertilizing.Wilting: Could mean too much or too little water.
🌿 6. Clean and PruneDust leaves regularly so the plant can photosynthesize.Trim dead or yellowing leaves to keep the plant looking good and healthy.
🌡️ 7. Keep the Environment StableMost houseplants prefer temperatures between 60–75°F (16–24°C).Avoid drafts, heating vents, or sudden temperature changes.
🧴 8. Don’t Over-FertilizeFertilize sparingly — about once a month during the growing season (spring and summer).Skip fertilizer in winter when the plant growth slows down.
