Welcome to Design Deconstructed EP 5! Simple modifications can often make the biggest difference to a space. This client was looking to change up their kitchen island area to something that felt more durable. We were able to make this happen without having to sacrifice design impact or breaking the bank. We swapped out the old butcher block with a granite top and had our carpenter add in some white oak paneling to replace the marble chevron. This added so much to the space and matched the clients style better. Lastly, we changed out the light fixtures from farmhouse style fixtures to something that is more design forward and added warmth to the space!

Welcome to Design Deconstructed EP 4!

Interior design can absolutely be afforadable. Making changes to your home doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank or buying everything new. With this space we saw a need for more color, warmth and texture. We did that by color drenching the room and looking at the little details like painting the cabinetry, swapping out the light fixtures and bedding etc.

All of these changes may have seemed small individually, but together they made a huge difference!

If I’m being honest, most of my designs start with falling head over heels for a piece of art and building the room around it. About three-quarters of the time, that’s the spark that lights the whole design fire.

Art is where it all starts for me, thanks to my grandfather, who let me paint a Van Gogh on his shop’s wall when I was a kid.

That early love of art became the heartbeat of my design process. Most days, I find that one piece that steals my heart and let the whole room follow.
