Look up. 👆 The ceiling is the fifth wall — and the most overlooked surface in the house.

Swipe through seven ways to dress it: dark florals over pale walls, a garden that spills down from the ceiling, jewel-box green, blush chinoiserie, painted beams, soft organic shapes, and classic black-and-white toile. Some whisper, some become the whole story — the trick is letting the ceiling lead and keeping everything below it in a supporting role.

Before you go bold overhead: keep the rest of the room calm, match the print’s intensity to your ceiling height, and light it beautifully so the pattern comes alive at night.

Same designer. Two rooms that couldn’t feel more opposite. 🤍🖤
One we kept bright and airy — veined marble, warm oak, brass, light pouring in. The other we took fully moody — deep plum walls, a checkered marble floor, brass glowing in the dark.
Opposite moods, same 3 moves that make a room unmistakably ours:
✦ Let one piece of natural stone be the star — then repeat it, dialed up or down
✦ Commit to a single metal throughout — brass ties both of these together
✦ Layer your lighting — pendant + sconce + statement fixture, never one overhead doing all the work
