III. SUSTAIN ✨
The final panel in my triptych 12,000.
This bronze piece represents endurance — the steady, ongoing work of sustaining a community through consistency, compassion, and care over time.
Built entirely by hand from thousands of individually cut and painted elements, the surface carries a heavier visual rhythm and warmth than the previous panels. The deeper bronze tones were intentional: grounded, resilient, and reflective of the strength required to continue showing up day after day for others.
Throughout the process, I kept thinking about the unseen labor behind nourishment — the people preparing meals, organizing resources, volunteering time, and creating spaces where others feel cared for and welcomed. This piece became a reflection of that quiet persistence.
Together, the three panels — I. Nourish (gold), II. Distribute (silver), and III. Sustain (bronze) — explore nourishment not just as food, but as dignity, connection, and collective support.
This series was created for NOURISH, an upcoming exhibition benefiting , which provides 12,000 meals to the Central Oregon community each month.
