🌸 GET TO KNOW THE CREW AT FOLEY’S 🌸
Meet Isabel Escobar — Sales & Customer Service Lead 💕
Isabel has been part of the Foley’s crew for about a year and a half, and if you’ve called us, walked through our doors, or placed an order, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve talked to her!
Her official job description might say sales and customer service, but her ACTUAL job description is more like: answering phones, taking orders, running the register, helping customers, pricing, inventory, cleaning, organizing everything within an inch of its life 😂… and about 47 other things depending on the day.
And when we say organizing—we mean ORGANIZING. Isabel is very particular about things having a place, which is probably a good quality to have when the rest of us are running around yelling, “WHO MOVED THE SCISSORS?!” 😂
Her favorite part of the job? The people. She loves talking with customers, getting to know everybody and, yes… a little gossiping. Because some days Foley’s is approximately 50% flower shop and 50% beauty shop. 😂
She actually prefers helping our walk-in customers because it feels more personal. Her favorite orders are birthdays and those “just because/I love you” arrangements where somebody writes an incredibly sweet card to their significant other. 🥹
❤️ She especially loves surprise deliveries and anniversary orders with cards that make everybody behind the counter go, “AWWWW.”
But customer service also comes with some VERY important questions. 😂
Some of Isabel’s favorites include:
🌸 “Do you sell flowers here?” Nope. Not a one. 😂
🌸 “Will you make it pretty?” No, we thought we’d ugly it up a little… 😂
🌸 “What can I have delivered for $30 total?” 😅
And apparently she could keep going ALL DAY.
She says one of the funniest parts of the job is how quickly complete strangers will tell you their ENTIRE personal lives. One minute you’re taking a flower order and five minutes later you’re thinking, “Ma’am, we met 37 seconds ago and somehow I am fully invested in this situation.” 😂
After a particularly long day, even answering the phone becomes difficult. Sometimes “Thank you for calling Foley’s Florist…” simply leaves her brain altogether, she gets tongue-tied and the customer gets:
“HEY THERE!” 😂😂😂
When it comes to flower-shop holidays, Valentine’s Day wins for absolute chaos, while Christmas takes FOREVER to prepare for. But if she had to choose one to survive again? Valentine’s Day. She actually enjoys the crazy, fast-paced madness.
Working here has also taught her the names of more flowers than she ever knew existed and how to properly care for them. Her favorites are dahlias, hydrangeas and basically anything big and fluffy. 🌸
Her least favorites?
Daisies because “they smell.” 😂
Alstroemeria because apparently they just look weird to her.
And we CANNOT forget that spiky eryngium. 😂
Her favorite gift item in the shop is Candleberry, and her favorite seasons at Foley’s are Christmas and Valentine’s Day.
Her workday drink of choice? Strawberry Alani. 🍓
And if Isabel gets control of the shop music, expect Etta James, Louis Armstrong, Aretha Franklin… basically jazz with words. 🎶
She would also like to formally state for the record that jazz DOES go perfectly with the flower shop atmosphere. 😂🌸
However, she would be perfectly happy never hearing Lindsey Sterling in the shop again because apparently after enough repetitions it causes “a tiny eye twitch.” 😂
Outside of Foley’s, Isabel is a Berea girl, born and raised, and—surprisingly to those of us who regularly forget—she’s only 23 years old. She describes herself as an old soul, which honestly explains the Etta James. 😂
At home she has a whole little zoo with chickens, two cats and two dogs. 🐓🐈🐕 She loves reading, dancing and singing, and her dream vacation would be Italy or Greece. 🇮🇹🇬🇷
When asked about one of her biggest fears, her answer showed exactly the kind of person she is: disappointing the people she cares about. ❤️
And we can’t introduce Isabel without mentioning that somewhere along the way, she also became Jordan’s right-hand woman. 😂💕 The two have gotten incredibly close, and whether Jordan needs help with a crazy idea, needs something organized, forgets what she was doing halfway through doing it 😂, or just needs someone she can count on, Isabel is usually right there. She's always down for a good time, always ready to make some tiktok videos, or has great ideas for posts. She may not have been at Foley’s the longest, but she has stepped up in a BIG way, and Jordan will be the first to tell you how much she appreciates and depends on her. ❤️
And finally, we asked Isabel to describe Foley’s in just three words.
Her answer?
FAMILY. BEAUTY. DRAMA.
And honestly… that may be the most accurate description of this place anyone has ever given. 😂🌸
We’re awfully glad Isabel wandered into this beautiful, flower-filled, slightly dramatic family of ours. 💕
Now that you know Isabel a little better, tell us—have you talked to her on the phone or had her help you in the shop before?! 👇
