What does the #1 candle scent of 2026 tell us about where the market is going? 🕯️✨

The Fragrance Foundation’s 2026 Candle & Home Collection award went to Nest New York’s White Lotus, Cucumber & White Sage. It’s a clear sign that minimal, spa-like wellness scents are having a moment.

That doesn’t mean gourmands are going anywhere. The market is just splitting into more lanes, and this year’s strongest ones are:
🍮 Comforting Gourmands
🌿 Luxury Botanical Wellness
🌲 Nature-Inspired Woods
🫐 Refined Fruits

Swipe through for the full breakdown, plus three AFI fragrances that fit right into these trends:
🍵 F29107 Green Tea & Lemongrass
🍯 F22276 To***co Caramel
🫐 F21747 Blackberry Sage

Finishing the series with Izzie 🕯️📊

Once your candles are made and your shipping is dialed in, the real work begins: understanding your true cost of goods.

If you’re not tracking every cost, you’re not actually pricing your products correctly.

Here’s what needs to be included:
✔ Wax
✔ Wicks
✔ Fragrance oil
✔ Jars & lids
✔ Labels
✔ Packaging materials
✔ Labor
✔ Shipping costs
✔ Merchant & processing fees (often forgotten)

Many makers underprice because they only account for materials—not the full cost of running the business.

💡 Beginner strategy: start lean.

1 wax system
1 jar style
6–10 core scents
Clean, consistent labels
Batch production system

Simplicity isn’t limiting—it’s strategic. A lean setup reduces waste, improves consistency, and protects your margins while you grow.

Profit comes from clarity. If you know your numbers, you control your business.
