In 1966, Modeline of California released one of the most attractive modern lamp designs ever created—a Mondrian-inspired collection designed by Arthur Jacobs.
Included in this line was a 39” table lamp and a matching chain lamp. Absent from this line was a floor lamp variant.
It has always been my feeling that the floor lamp should have existed, so I worked with Arthur Jacobs’ family to make that dream a reality. 10 of these were produced, of which 6 already have homes.
Created with the exact materials and specifications that Modeline of California used, this towering 60.5” floor lamp is a thing of beauty. All korina wood construction finished in a warm walnut tone with linen shades. Each of the four sides has a rectangular color window in gold, ocean blue, and turquoise. Equipped with a dimmer switch, the 6 bulbs provide amble light to illuminate any space. Its unique
“backless” design allows this lamp to be floated in the center of a room and appreciated from all angles.
This is the first and only authorized Arthur Jacobs design produced since his 1976 retirement, and it serves as both a celebration of his work and a testament to its timelessness.
Each lamp comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by myself as the manufacturer and Arthur Jacobs’ son as a representative of his design work.
