Apparently, today is I Love Yarn Day!

What does that mean? We’re not really sure.

Do we love yarn anyway? YOU BET!

Today is also a GREAT day to cast on a DK-weight sweater, because all seven gorgeous new colors of Juniper Moon Farm Rambouillet are here! This super soft all-American wool was already one of our favorites, but with the expanded color palette, it might actually be perfect.

Oh, and Kelbourne Woolens Scout, our other favorite DK sweater staple, is exploding off the shelves. And new colors of that are about to arrive, too… 🙈

So yeah, whether you’re celebrating “I Love Yarn Day” or not, it’s a good time to buy some yarn 🧶

Who needs a big pile of decorative gourds when you could have a big pile of Noro yarn??

We love a pumpkin as much as anybody, but the fall vibes of these six colorways of Noro Yarns Akeboshi are impeccable. Akeboshi is Noro’s newest fiber, and we are so happy to have it here at the shop. Bulky weight, 85% wool, 15% silk, each pumpkin-sized ball contains a generous 295 yards.

Perfect for quick hats and scarves…but we’d love to see someone knit up a sweater in one of these lovely gradient colorways. Which one would you choose?

Sweater season has finally arrived, and with it, new fall yarns!!

First up, we’re so excited to show off all EIGHT new colors of Blue Sky Fibers Woodstock Tweed Aran! That brings our selection of this beloved bulky weight yarn to 17 brights and 5 neutrals.

Woolstok Tweed is a blend of fine Highland and Donegal wools, remarkably soft but still tough enough for your sweaters and winter accessories.

Lots more new fall yarns are already on the shelves and even more are on the way, so stay tuned for updates 👀

We are feeling very autumnal right now with new colors from Leading Men Fiber Arts and madelinetosh!

Leading Men’s stunning COTM is Shady Pines, a cool-toned, glowing forest green. Plus they sent us a restock of spooky-season favorite The Haunted Wood, both on Dramaturg DK. (Hot tip: you need just two skeins to make the awesome Memento Mori shawl with Maria on October 6).

MadelineTosh’s Hue of the Moment is less spooky and more collegiate: Debate Club is a cozy, preppy combo of goldenrod yellow, green, and brown. Available on Tosh DK.

Don’t forget: today, Friday 9/18 is the annual “Shelfies” celebration over at our neighbors Ándale Market! Stop by for your yarn, then head down the block to sample all kinds of cool local snacks and vote for your favorites to be carried at their shop! Or visit Ándale first and bring us a treat 😉

Happy Labor Day Weekend! We are closed today, 9/6 and tomorrow 9/7. The staff is enjoying a little break with lots of cookouts, and knitting and crocheting on the beach, before our busy fall season starts up in full! We hope you have a restful and happy holiday as well ❤️

Thanks to everyone who came out this past week for our End-of-Summer Sale! There are still quite a few treasures left in our sale selection, so we’ve decided to drop prices even further— all remaining sale yarn and accessories are now 30% off, including Fibre Co. yarns!

We’re a bit behind schedule on this post, but our collective exhaustion was well worth it because another successful summer of Fiber Arts Sunmer Camp has come and gone! Last week, we ended the summer on a high note with Knitting and Crochet Level 3 camps. Our campers made great progress on their projects, including two completed cowls, headbands, bunnies, and lots of pompoms.

Happy back-to-school week to all the families out there, and thank you to all who participated in this summer’s camps. We hope your young crafters enjoyed some fun, creativity, and inspiration with us, and we hope to see you again soon for our Afterschool Knit and Crochet Club!

Grown-ups, don’t feel left out! We’ve got some GREAT adult classes coming up soon. Check out the link in our bio for more information!

Vests are the best! Make one with us this fall!

🧶Vacation Vest is designed by Park & Knit and taught by Emma Kaufman starting TOMORROW, August 22! Emma made her version in lovely soft malabrigo Rios, and we’ve got some fantastic colors in stock right now.

🧶Edith Crochet Vest is designed by Crochet Pattern Design and taught by Maria starting September 15! Maria made hers in Elsebeth Lavold Designer’s Choice Silky Wool, which we just restocked in some new and favorite colorways.

🧶 Ramona Vest is designed by Annie Lupton and taught by Shara starting September 13! We did not grab a photo of Shara’s vest in progress, so you’ll have to enjoy Annie’s cute photo and trust us that Shara’s is looking fab in Ella Rae Yarns Eco Tweed.
