hello to all of our new folks!

We appreciate all of our support and love for our Dolly yarn this past weekend! As with any post that gets a little outside our bubble, we’ve gotten a few weirdos. As such, here’s a reminder of where we stand with another color from our 2026 palette. :)

As we head into colder months, it’s a good time to protect yourself and others by getting your annual flu and covid vaccines! If you’re going to be around a new mom/baby, consider getting a TDAP refresh! My son is old enough to start his round of Gardasil shots! There are so many incredible innovations and progress in being able to protect ourselves and others from viruses, and thank you to all of you who are able to help by doing your part!

Yay vaccines! And if you’re someone who thinks that vaccines cause autism, f**k you! If you’re part of why measles is dropping below the target needed for herd immunity, f**k you! If you put a man with a worm in his brain in charge of Health and Human Services, f**k you! You! Are! A! Weirdo!

Made some swatches for you! Here are photos in different light! First one is indirect sunlight.

We’ve also had some questions about our new “Golden Goose” base - this is a light fi*****ng weight yarn that is 92% superwash merino and 8% gold Lurex. Lurex is an alternative to stellina that is a polymer that is vaporized with a thin layer of metal. It operates more like a ply of sparkle rather than randomly dispersed through the yarn. It is both sparklier and softer than stellina yarns (in our experience).

Happy full moon!

This month’s moon is the 🌽🌽CORN MOON🌽🌽, sometimes more specifically the Corn Harvest Moon or the Corn Maker Moon. As the closest moon to the fall equinox, this is also the Harvest Moon, but that name is usually reserved for when the moon closest to the equinox falls in October.

This moon also looks to be the biggest, brightest and most golden moon of the year, plus a beautiful night to boot! That extra illumination should be a little more light to complete that harvest!

Dolly was for everyone. 💔

Born in 1946, Dolly Parton was born in a small one room cabin in Locust Ridge, TN. The doctor was paid for her birth with a sack of cornmeal. As a small child, Dolly was captivated by her mother's singing and started writing and singing her own songs at a young age. By the age of 10, she was performing regularly on the Cas Walker shower, and by 19, she was introduced to the stage at the Grand Ole Opry by Johnny Cash. She quickly captured the heart of the nation, and though her rise to stardom was swift, she didn't let that sweep her away from the resiliency, authenticity, and empathy her humble beginnings instilled in her.

This yarn is available for pre-order through Monday, 9/28 at 11:30am and a portion of proceeds will benefit Dolly's Imagination Library.

This weekend is the THIRTIETH ‼️ annual Wool Gathering at Young's Jersey Dairy in Yellow Springs, Ohio (just an hour west of Columbus) and you can for sure catch us there!! We’ve also got a ~show exclusive~ colorway we’re calling IMPRACTICAL MAGIC 🪄, here on Sock and DK through the weekend!

Make sure to wish Kelley and Kristin (as well as showrunner Jill Young) a happy birthday if you stop by on Saturday!! Harvest season yields many a birthday, if you can imagine. 🎃🍎🍁

This weekend has everything - yarn, ice cream, mini golf, a corn pit, the fall equinox - what’s not to love? 💕

Make along season is in full swing and we’re excited for another MKAL with Stephanie! This years fall cowl is more Autumn themed and we’re here for it! Our kit is now available and so is our stitch marker set - full of dark whimsey! As always, our markers are circular leverbacks, perfect for both knitting and crochet!

happy full moon in Pisces! How has your eclipse season been? 😬

Today is the Sturgeon full moon 🌕 🐟 and it’s an intense one! The sun is in Virgo, so if you’re feeling overwhelmed, I’m sorry, but the only way out is through! You gotta work your way through this one. It’ll take some time to return to a balance, but the good news is that things done during this time have a higher chance of success. You can do it, even if you don’t want to!!

This moon is called the Sturgeon moon because it’s this time of year that they’re easily caught in the Great Lakes! They’re called a living fossil because they’re rather prehistoric looking. There’s 29 species found worldwide, including the one found in Great Lakes.

This moon is also called the Green Corn Moon, the Lightning Moon (I think we know why here in Ohio 😖), and the Grain Moon. 🌙
