Another great option for your Sweater for Good is Mitchell Wool Co ! We have dk if you fancy a vest like mine. The colors in fi*****ng weight are perfect for sweaters too. It may be Rhinebeck Sweater for Good but I am a strong believer that any local farm yarn used at any time is a Sweater for Good.

Is anyone planning on going to New York Sheep & Wool this year? The Hudson Valley Textile Project is promoting local wool for the making of your “Rhinebeck” sweaters and other projects you might wear at the festival with wool from the area. This is called Sweaters For Good. You can learn all about it and take the pledge. Is it your first time going and you are wondering where to get said yarn? Well, wonder no longer!

I have procured a special batch of yarn from my friend Carole Foster from Foster Sheep Farm and her beautiful flock, spun at Battenkill Fiber Mill! This 3-ply DK weight yarn is in a natural blend of colors from her Corriedale & Wensleydale 2025 clip. Carole also dyed her yarn in natural plant dyes from her own garden as well. Look for those coming soon!

And do not forget about our very special and dear to my heart Studio Dog Fibers yarns!!!

Have you heard about the Hudson Valley Textile Project Sweaters for good?? Jill Draper is just one of the great yarns for your sweater!!

Jill Draper Kingston is back in the studio! This 3 ply is a dyed in the wool tweed with lots of flecks of color in it. It has been made with Targhee wool from the Finger Lakes Region of New York state.

Its 3 ply construction makes it round and bouncy, great for cables or colorwork. Kingston is snuggly soft to knit but does have a little chaff (hay) in it. The mill Jill uses doesn't use a harsh chemical wash to dissolve it.

Stop in the Studio to sniff and squish some today!!

During my quiet time at home, I’ve been working on my Buccaneer and meditating on all sorts of things in my life. Every stitch that passes through my hands brings creativity that can soothe my soul. This knitting thing really helps center me. Does fiber arts help you as well?

Imperial CoPacaWoo is in the Studio, my fiber blending friends! They took cotton (cool, breathable, plant-based overachiever), added alpaca (luxuriously soft, thermoregulating diva), and invited wool (the elastic, memory-holding responsible one) to the party. Why? Because cotton alone has no bounce. Alpaca alone has no memory. Wool alone can feel… well… woolly. But together? You get balance, structure, softness, and drape. That’s what you call fiber alchemy. Copacawoo is a 6-ply lace weight. That means six fine strands are spun together to create strength without bulk. Lace weight yarns are typically light, airy, and delicate — but because this one is plied, it has integrity. Work each color individually as a Lace Weight or by holding 3 strands together (Trio) it becomes a sport weight yarn. The possibilities are endless and the colors are so beautiful! Here are a few swatches knitted up with three strands together.
