A special Thank You to all of the residents who came out to The Festival of the Lakes yesterday, even in the heat walked the event and participated in the festivities. It's so nice to meet our residents and shocking to hear how many of You know nothing about Byers after years of living in Commerce Township. You have faced Friends of Byers with a challenge to get everyone educated in its wonderful history and a Beautiful Park owned by Commerce Township for everyone to enjoy!

So now complete, the final wall preservation of the Historical Byers Homestead Barn. So many years of hard work and 10's of thousands of dollars of later Friends of Byers can stand back and say Thank You to all of our Patrons who attend our events, shop in the store and have supported our efforts of preservation now since 1998. Please stop by for the Festival this weekend to celebrate and check out the beauty of the Community.

Friends of Byers will be participating at the Oakland County America 250 Celebration July 25th and 26th. We will be promoting Byers Homestead and its Historical Significance to Commerce Township. Please join us and many Historical Societies in Celebrating 250 years of of Greatness in the USA. It is a great Family event and full of Fun and History!

Last wall of the Barn Preservation started today. A special Thanks to Shane and his 2 guys from Ashley Built Contruction for helping Dean, Mike and Eric from Friends of Byers. This local Builder stepped in to volunteer and we couldn't be happier. Stop by and check out this amazing job!
