๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Union organizers began demanding better pay, safer workplaces, and a shorter workweek ("8 hours for work, 8 hours for rest, 8 hours for what we will").

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ The Central Labor Union organized the first unofficial Labor Day on September 5, 1882, in New York City, complete with a parade and picnic.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ The first Monday in September was chosen to create a long weekend positioned roughly halfway between the 4th and Thanksgiving.

The East Montgomery County Improvement District's new 210,000-square-foot convention center in Valley Ranch has been named "Caney Pinesโ€.

๐Ÿ’šThis project will be the seventh largest convention center in Texas and will be able to host corporate meetings, trade shows, youth sporting events, expos and galas.
