Pinned Ptera

09/10/2026

Come to Denton for so much this weekend! We’ll have a booth all weekend at the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival!

This weekend, two incredible Denton events are happening simultaneously: Arts & Autos, presented by the Downtown Denton Foundation , and the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival at the North Texas Fairgrounds.

These free events offer plenty of opportunities to see how ideas can grow into institutions!

Can't decide?

Do it all!

Have you seen her this summer, the big yellow and black spider with the zigzag stitched down her web?

Old folks call her the writing spider. She has about six weeks left. The first hard frost ends her, and she seems to know it, because right now she is spinning something that will outlast her. A papery brown sac, hung in the goldenrod, packed with hundreds of eggs.

That sac holds through ice storms, wind and snow. In spring it opens and her children ride silk threads out over your garden, exactly the way a certain barn spider promised in the book.

Let the web stay through October. She is writing her will. 🕷️

You ever look at your calendar and think… “okay, this is manageable chaos”? 🌸🐞

May and I are keeping things cute this month—busy enough to stay interesting, calm enough that I might actually know what day it is.

Here’s where the bug circus is popping up:
✨ 5/9, 5/23, 5/30 McKinney Farmers Market
✨ 5/15–5/17 Grapevine Main Street Fest
✨ 5/24 Pinned Ptera Workshop - tickets launch tomorrow, doing my best 🥇🥹

A few markets, one big festival, one workshop, and hopefully at least several opportunities for me to financially justify my coffee addiction. Come say hi, shop weird, and support your local insect woman. 🖤 LOVE YOU MEAN IT!!

Howdy, just a girl and some bug art I’ve made the past few weeks. Thanks for trusting me all these years. Love you, mean it.
