Souvenirs for National Park lovers and Colorado enthusiasts!

A few personal things about me:
🐶these are my two amazing Vizslas: ZuZu, age 5, and Jozie born in March. They are actually sisters in dog land but in our terms, ZuZu is JoZie's aunt. They are hunting dogs. ZuZu is trained and Jozie is on deck.
🏡 Andy and I don't have kids. We have 2 amazing nephews and 1 sweet and smart niece. We have been married for 14 years and together for 17.
🏞️ I drag my family and friends all over the U.S. to see national parks. I have been to 54 of the official 63 parks.
🫎 My husband is a big hunter (the responsible kind). He hunts elk, white tail, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, bear, turkey, grouse, pheasant, and whatever else he can. We like to fish in Alaskan when we can afford it.
👩‍🍳I cook most nights with game meat: elk, venison, Alaskan halibut, pronghorn, and game birds. Always here for tips! The only protein we eat that Andy didn't kill himself is ribeye steaks.

We will be at Oktoberfest - The Denver Wiesn tomorrow (Sunday) and all next weekend Thursday-Sunday 1-9pm.

We went to the sphere in Vegas last week! That was a cool experience, but hell, it was one very overpriced IMAX movie. But I did get a souvenir cup and can check that off my bucket list 🙌🙌
What we saw: Wizard of Oz $126/ticket
Food/drinks: 2 popcorns and souvenir cups with a cocktail: $87
Life is meant for living and I intend to live it !!
Def check it out, but don't expect to get out cheaply.

Wishing I was in the forest walking peacefully with birds chirping right now... anyone else?
My car died this evening in the middle lane of Wadsworth with cars racing by me on either side. I sat there with my hazards on waiting to get hit while I called 911. I tried everything as I just sit there unsure what to do. Do I run off? Finally, the car randomly started to sputter and I was able to cruise off of the busy roadway. I had a small Menty B, shed many tears, and wondering what the hell im gonna do going into show season. More to come...

🎄🎁I'm in Monument this weekend Front Range Makers Market for their annual show at Lewis Palmer High School. This is my 6th year at this amazing show! I do love the kind spirit of the people from Monument & Co Springs. It is such a quality, diverse show, full of small business owners.

Also, this show always kicks off my ornament show season!
I had to laugh as the farmers markets came to a close and people said they were off the rest of the year from shows. I am literally just getting started. Cheers to ornament season 🙌

Deirdre and I traveled to Vegas for 36 hours with the sole purpose of checking out the Las Vegas Souvenir & Gift show. This is a trade show that specializing in custom souvenirs for places like zoos, aquariums, museums, and national parks. I am still trying to figure out my overall perception of the show. I think overall, I'm just a little shocked at how crazy expensive Vegas is, and perhaps it's hard to justify this for a small business.
The bottom line of the trade show, is that it would be between $4000-8000 for me to attend as a regular exhibitor. You can have all kinds of add on , like the "match" program. Where they match makers with retailers. But it all cost money. I even asked them about driving myself to save on the shipping of my display, which they call "dryage". That was going to be an extra $500 for bringing in my own car.
All this before hotel, flights, meals, and more.... I have a lot to think with this one. And I also believe in intentional growth. I don't want to do something too soon. Growth should be slow and steady.

Today was the end of Vail farmers market season! Breck ended about a month ago. What an epic ride it was, and I learned so much about the farmers market lifestyle this summer. You really dial in the set up, tear down, and process!
I NEVER minded the drive btw!!!

We biked up to maroon bells last weekend and it was a pretty epic choice ! Unlike driving there in a crowded shuttle bus, we had the road mostly to ourselves and go to stop along the way! By the time you get to the lake, there are droves of tourists getting off the shuttle bus. That's totally fine, but the highlight was the peaceful road!

About 7 years ago, we did the crater lake hike just past maroon lake. That is another AMAZING option to avoid crowds and get some private views to yourself.
The e-bikes were about $165 for a half day rental, but it was super worth it. We also had to purchase maroon bells day passes which were $8. And then the big shock, the passenger car parking in Aspen highlands- $40 a day!

If there's one thing I've learned, experiences like this are always worth shelling out a little cash.

Pro TIP: bring padded back shorts and gloves ! Those seats hurt and your hands get cold in the wind 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️
