Hi everyone! We’ve had a couple plants come up missing at Westlawn Business center. A Japanese maple tree along with 3 Green elephant ear colocasia plants and a young more unique colocasia plant, and all of these were breeding stock for next year. The Japanese maple was in a pot on the shelves against the building and the colocasia were underneath the tree by the parking lot. If Whoever took them could return them we’d appreciate it. The colocasia will NOT come back next year without proper care

The flowers are BLOOMING, the field is walkable, and there are tons of zinnias and sunflowers waiting to become bouquets! 💐

Our U-Cut field is SELF-SERVE, so you do not have to come during staffed hours. Come out, grab some scissors, head into the field, cut what you love, and pay when you’re finished!

🌸 SELF-SERVE HOURS:

Monday-Friday: 7 AM until dark

And by “until dark,” I really do mean until dark! If it’s 8:15 PM and there’s still enough daylight to safely see and pick flowers, you’re welcome to come. 🌅

🌻 NEW: DON’T WANT TO WALK INTO THE FIELD?

On Wednesday-Sunday mornings, I’ll also be putting out a bucket of freshly cut, pre-stripped zinnias and sunflowers underneath the supply table. These are available for anyone who would rather choose flowers without walking through the field.

Maybe you forgot the bug spray. Maybe you’re not a fan of bees or insects. Maybe you just want to grab some flowers and go. Totally fine!

The field itself is still open and you’re strongly encouraged to pick your own if you’d like the full U-Cut experience. There are butterflies, bumblebees, and plenty of flowers to choose from. 🐝🦋🌸

IMPORTANT: Please leave the pre-cut flower bucket UNDER THE TABLE AND OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT. The shade keeps the flowers cool. Putting the bucket in direct sunlight can quickly overheat and damage the flowers.

There’s a basket of flower-cutting scissors right in front of the field. Take a pair into the field and please return them when you’re finished.

2. Grab the laminated guide.
It has simple cutting instructions and tips for getting the longest vase life from your flowers.

3. Pick what you love!
Wander through the field and make your own bouquet. There’s no need to wait for me to be there.

4. Pay when you’re finished.

Alright, y'all. The flowers are BLOOMING, the field is WALKABLE (I tested it in tennis shoes), and I am ready to watch you all fill buckets with zinnias and sunflowers. SELF-SERVE U-PICK! Don't worry, I'll still be out here during staffed hours to say hi, hand you scissors, and admire your selections.

🌻 U-Cut Flowers: OPEN NOW + SELF-SERVE HOURS! 🌻

Okay y'all, I'm out here, the field is WALKABLE (tennis shoes tested and approved), the flowers are POPPING, and I'm doing something new: SELF-SERVE U-CUT Flowers! We're figuring this out as we go, so there will be changes, but here's the deal right now:

🌸 STAFFED HOURS (I'm here, at the field, with a table and a smile ready to help):

· Wednesday & Thursday: 11 AM – 6 PM
· Friday: 1 PM – 7
· Saturday & Sunday: 11 AM – 7 PM

🌿 SELF-SERVE HOURS (whenever there's LIGHT):

· Monday – Friday: 7 AM – 8 PM
· Saturday – Sunday: 9 AM – 8 PM

How Self-Serve Works:

1. Find the scissors: I'll keep flower-cutting scissors inside the building for self-serve. Just go inside, turn right, turn right again, walk down the hallway, and look for the door to our store. There's also a dropbox there for payment.
2. Check the prices: I'll have prices posted outside, on the door, and at my table when I'm out there.
3. Cut your flowers: The field is right there. Pick what you love. Sunflowers are $1 per stem, all other flowers are 50 cents per stem.
4. Pay: Cash (exact change only if I'm not out there), CashApp ($ZachrielX), Venmo (Zoverla), or card if I'm around.

PLEASE DON'T COME IN THE DARK. I love you all, but I don't need anyone tripping over a sunflower in the pitch black. If the sun's up, we're open. If it's dark, go home, dream of zinnias and come back in the morning.

🌧️🌿 UCUT FLOWER FIELD UPDATE – MONDAY EDITION 🌿🌧️

I know some of you were really hoping for a Monday flower fix.
I was also hoping for that.
But the weather? Did not get the memo.

🌧️ THE SITUATION:
It's raining. Again. The field is mud. The flowers are drowning. Like was sinking above my boots level of mud.
Closed today.
Probably closed tomorrow.

🌿 THE PLAN:
I wanted to open. I really did. But the weather is out here acting like it's personally offended by my existence. So here's what we're gonna do:

· If it's dry, I'm open.
· If it's wet, I'm closed.
· If it's kinda dry but kinda wet, I'll post an update and you can decide if you wanna risk it.

🌸 THE GOOD NEWS:
The flowers are still alive. The zinnias are still dramatic. And I’m still here, waiting for the sun to get its act together so I can let you cut things and feel happy.

I’ll post again when I know more. In the meantime, stay dry, stay safe, and if anyone sees the sun, tell it I’m waiting.

🌧️🚫 FIELD UPDATE! THE MUD IS REAL, BUT SO ARE THE FLOWERS 🚫🌧️

Alright, y'all. We have to be honest: this weather is not cooperating.

We were not able to open today (Friday) because the field is just too muddy. Tomorrow (Saturday) is calling for rain all day again, so we will be closed for safety, nobody wants to pick flowers in a thunderstorm, and we don't want you slipping through the rows.

Sunday looks like it might give us a break, and if it does, we are hoping the field will dry out enough for a Monday opening. If that happens, we will be open all week, including Monday and Tuesday, which will normally be our closed days. We want to get you out here as soon as it's safe, dry, and walkable.

We know so many of you have been waiting for the U-Cut field, and we are so sorry for the delay. The flowers are absolutely thriving in all this rain. They’re getting bigger, brighter, and more abundant by the day. When we finally open, the field is going to be absolutely stunning. 🌸🌻💐

Keep an eye on this page for updates. We'll announce the moment we know we can open. Thank you for your patience, your messages, and for understanding that even a flower field has to respect a muddy path.

Due to an unexpected and significant drop in temperatures over the next 10 days, Florascape Gardens will be closing our main retail space for the remainder of the year, effective immediately. While we originally planned to remain open until Wednesday the 29th, our hardy mums and perennials need to be moved indoors to ensure their health and longevity. We know how much many of you look forward to purchasing these beautiful plants, and your support means the world to us.

However, our houseplants and succulents remain available for self-serve purchase in the hallway of the Westlawn Business Center, as well as for sale at Cat Tales/Midwest Pet Refuge in Portland, Indiana. We’re also excited to announce that starting this upcoming week, you’ll be able to find a selection of our plants at Tall Timber Coffee in Muncie.

We will also be rotating a variety of our plants in and out of Graffiti Grill at Westlawn for your viewing and purchasing convenience. Perennials and mums will now only be available inside Graffiti Grill, where they can be protected from the cold. We’ll do our best to make sure everything receives enough sunlight by rotating them from our room with windows, as the grill itself has limited natural light. If you wish to purchase any plants at Graffiti Grill, you’re welcome to leave payment in our secure box or use the online self-checkout.

Please note: While hardy mums can tolerate a light frost, we recommend not moving them directly into full sunlight from indoors if you purchase them, they’ll adjust best with a bit of care. Outside of Westlawn, mums and perennials will not be available again until spring, as rotating them between locations during winter is simply not feasible.

Thank you all for your ongoing support and understanding as we do what’s best for our plants and for you. We look forward to helping you with your gardening needs when we reopen for the 2026 season on or around March 9th.
