We offer classes in knitting, crochet and needle felting. We focus on natural fiber yarn, unique notions, bags and needle cases, and local hand dyed yarns as well as locally made chocolate. We have added a gift shop area to the new shop and now carry cards, soap, candles, jewelry and more! I tried to post this yesterday for Finished Object Friday but it disappeared somehow! In any case, here it is a day late. Tatyana finished these two Melt the Ice hats for herself and her daughter. Here they are wearing them while Tatyana is visiting her daughter in Russia. Tatyana made her hat with Malabrigo Seis Cabos in Cereza. I’m not sure what yarn she used for her daughter’s hat.

Join us on Saturday, June 27 from 2-5 pm at the Septentrio Winery in Arcata for a Hospice of Humboldt Fashion Show and Auction Fundraiser!

We are so excited about this event! The afternoon will start with a fashion show of shawls, ponchos and other hand knit and crocheted items. The items were either created as shop samples for the store or were donated by customers.

After the fashion show items will be available to bid on in either a silent auction or a Dutch auction. Your ticket to the event includes 2 raffle tickets to use in the Dutch auction.

Proceeds will go to Hospice of Humboldt. Bring a friend!

Mark your calendars for this year's Olive Knits 4 Day KAL Cast On Party!

Join us on Wednesday, July 1 from 5-7 pm to cast on for this year's knit along. You can join us in person or via Zoom. We're doing things a little differently this year because July 4 falls on a Saturday. We want you to be able to work on your sweater over the July 4th weekend.

Bring your current project and stay for the day. You might want to bring a lunch or plan to buy lunch at one of our local restaurants. We will have snacks, door prizes and a pop-up shop with Hot Thommolly. We will be inside this year.

These two summer tops are quick to make and are perfect for warm weather. The Elliana T-shirt has an all-over lace pattern and elbow length sleeves. It uses Brighton Beach from Queensland Collection, which is a linen and cotton blend yarn.

The Horizon top from Yumiko Alexander looks great in Giardino from Louisa Harding. It’s a cotton blend yarn that has a chain construction.

I want to share these gorgeous finished projects for Finished Object Friday. Kaycee finished her gorgeous Free Your Fade shawl. She used 3 colors of River Silk and Merino from Tributary Yarns. And then Catherine and Kaycee both finished their Felix sweaters. Catherine made the cardigan in Vientos from Malabrigo and Kaycee used Patagonia Organic Merino held together with a strand of Silk Mohair Lux. Aren’t they amazing?! 😻
