This project came to me through a referral after I had the pleasure of designing her sister's kitchen. The goal was to create a kitchen that felt fresh and functional while still honoring the character and craftsmanship of the era. To achieve this balance, we selected Legacy Crafted cabinetry in a recessed panel door style, a timeless choice that speaks beautifully to the home's history. Finished in a rich black, the cabinetry makes a bold, sophisticated statement while grounding the space with classic elegance. Rose Bay Cambria quartz countertops were chosen for the perimeter, offering durability and subtle movement that complements the cabinetry without overpowering it. For the island, a natural wood countertop was selected to introduce warmth and contrast, creating a welcoming focal point at the heart of the kitchen. Soft pink elements were layered throughout the space to add charm and personality. The pink backsplash tile brings a delicate yet unexpected touch, while a light pink paint was carried across the ceiling, walls, and trim to envelop the room in a warm, cohesive glow. Truly, it's a beautiful transformation that celebrates past and present in perfect harmony.

Water damage prompted this kitchen renovation, which included replacing the base cabinets with new ones and artistically painting the rest. Annette modified a standard sink base to accommodate a farmhouse apron front sink. A new solid surface countertop and walnut island top were installed. To complete the modern farmhouse design, Annette installed the backsplash tile, updated the paint, had a new luxury vinyl floor installed, and had Duell Electric replace the lighting fixtures.

I am thrilled to share that I have turned my focus back to Anne Ayre Designs full time. I am teaming up with quality contractors Andy Mey of Centurion Construction LLC in the greater Grand Rapids area, and Greg Shaler Builder in the Lakeshore area. My next post will pick up where I left off, showcasing the completed kitchen with the artistically painted doors. Looking forward to catching you up on completed projects from the past three years, and sharing the new projects I am currently working on. It's great to be back!

This kitchen underwent an amazing transformation! All new fronts were made and painted along with the cabinets by Annette making for a beautiful update. Two bathrooms also underwent a change by just painting the vanities and switching out the hardware. If you are happy with your kitchen layout and your cabinets have good bones, please consider this cost affective way to transform your kitchen into something you will love for years to come!

A client sent me this funny a few days ago before we began her kitchen remodeling project. So grateful for clients who have a good attitude going into what can be a most disruptive time.

This kitchen update not only included new cabinetry and countertops, but new flooring into an adjoining family room, half bath, laundry and main entry. Updates were also made to the fireplace facade in the family room and stair railings/balusters/posts in the main entry and lower lever stairways. Recessed lighting was also added to the kitchen and family room to brighten up the longtime dark spaces.
Cabinetry was taken to the ceiling for added storage. A coffee bar, pull out trash/recycling, and one extra bar seat was added to complete the client's wish list.

Annette put her space planning skills to work to turn this kitchen into a dream kitchen! She was able to repurpose most of the cabinets and rearranged the kitchen in such a way to make a better use of the space and a more functional kitchen. WJS Woodworking took the kitchen apart and reinstalled all of the cabinets along with two new cabinets and parts they made to trim it out for a more custom look. Annette painted the cabinets and door/drawer fronts in Sherwin Williams Rosemary and Natural Linen colors, added new oil rubbed bronze hardware pulls, and topped them off with Viatera Etude quartz countertops. Then Annette installed Imola Slash 3x12 white tile on the backsplash and updated the nearby fireplace façade with a coordinating hexagon mosaic tile to complete the modern look. She also worked with the homeowner, who in turn had the existing wood floors throughout repaired, sanded, and stained to unify the kitchen, dining, and living areas.
