Some wood tells a story long before it becomes furniture. This custom Copper Beech table started as a sentimental slab provided by the customer and was transformed into a functional statement piece that can be enjoyed for generations.

Starting with an oversized slab, we rough cut both table tops, flattened them with our CNC process, stabilized imperfections with epoxy fills, and finished everything with Renner hydro-oil to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. The customer-provided bases were then assembled, installed, and coated to match the finished tops.

The result: a meaningful piece with a second life.

Would you LOVE to have a piece of unique history in your house? Check out this video of the Coney Island Boardwalk flooring project we just completed. If you want your home to tell a story, this is a great one!

The Coney Island Boardwalk is a 2.7 mile-long boardwalk that opened in 1923. It was built using 1,700,000 cubic yards of sand, 120,000 tons of stone, and 3,600,000 feet of timber flooring.

On October 29, 2012 Hurricane Sandy ripped through Coney Island, destroying much of this historic landmark.

Excelsior Wood Products is one of the few places where this piece of history can be repurposed into flooring and installed in YOUR home!
