Sometimes the original plan changes — and that’s part of the design process. We had originally planned to remove the soffit and extend the new custom cabinetry to the ceiling. During demolition, however, we discovered mechanicals, wiring, and plumbing hidden above, making soffit removal impractical.
Instead, we adjusted the design to work with the soffit rather than against it. Incorporating a glass-front cabinet helps soften the transition and draws the eye away from the soffit, creating a lighter, more balanced feel. In the end, the space came together beautifully, and the clients were thrilled with the outcome.
