A freestanding tub. Textured walls. A restrained palette.

Nothing competing for attention, just a series of decisions that let the room feel quiet from the moment you walk in.

The result is simple on purpose.

The quartzite waterfall island isn't the first decision in this Aurora kitchen.

It's the last one.

The layout came first. Walls were reconsidered. Traffic flow was rebuilt around how the family actually moves through the space - from the morning rush to evenings spent together.

Once the structure was right, the island could become what it was meant to be: the centerpiece of a kitchen that finally functions as beautifully as it looks.

Park Hill homes have a character that's worth protecting.

This Spanish Colonial Revival kept the architectural details that made the house special - and reconsidered everything that had accumulated around them over the decades.

Arch bookcases. A custom fireplace surround. Furnishings chosen for the proportions of each room. Every decision responds to the architecture instead of competing with it.

Every client comes in with a wish list.

New countertops.
A bigger island.
Maybe a soaking tub.

We don't start there.

We start with how the home isn't working. The layout that forces everyone through the same narrow corridor. The kitchen that isolates whoever is cooking from everyone else in the house. The bathroom that's been tolerated for twenty years because it seemed like too much to deal with.

The wish list is useful. But the problems the house is actually creating are often different from the ones clients came in to solve.

Finding those is where the design begins.

The kitchen and family room were only a few steps apart. They might as well have been in different houses.

A wall separated the two spaces, making the kitchen feel disconnected from where everyone actually gathered.

The wall came out. The kitchen opened up. The island became the center of the room instead of the edge of it. The family room finally had something to face.

Same square footage. A completely different way to live in it.

The 1950s called. We answered differently.

This Park Hill bathroom kept its footprint. The bathtub didn't.

A curbless shower replaced it, opening up the layout without moving a wall. Floor-to-ceiling tile draws the eye upward. A floating vanity keeps more of the floor visible, while a built-in medicine cabinet and custom doors keep storage tucked away.

Heated floors and a bidet add a little luxury without taking up any more room.

Small footprint. A lot more function.

The copper vessel sink and honey oak vanity were fine.
Fine was the problem.

So this bathroom went in a completely different direction: deep forest green Fireclay handmade tile, Spoonflower wallpaper bold enough to hold its own next to it, and a custom walnut vanity to bring it back to earth.

Same house.
One room that finally feels like her.

"Our latest project was our fourth - and by far our biggest - with DDG. The fact that we have returned to them four times, including a total renovation of a newly purchased home, speaks volumes about the confidence we have in them."

The first conversation with Denver Design Group isn't a sales call.
It's a walk-through.

We want to see how you move through the space. Where you set things down. Which rooms you avoid. What you've adapted around without realizing it.

The answers to those questions tell us more about what needs to change than any Pinterest board ever could.

From there, we build a scope of work around how the home actually needs to function - not just how it could look. You'll know what's being done, why it's being done, and what to expect at every stage before anything gets ordered or a contractor sets foot in the house.

No surprises. No decisions made without you. No wondering what's happening next.

That's how every project starts.

The whirlpool bath tub was the first thing to go.

The decision to remove a built-in whirlpool bath and replace it with a freestanding tub isn't only about aesthetics. Although, it's hard to argue with a tub positioned under the window and facing the mountains.

It's about understanding how a space actually gets used. A whirlpool bath that hasn't been turned on in years is just a bathtub that takes up too much room.
