Last week, we welcomed back to Los Angeles for a rich and deeply personal conversation celebrating LEBANON: COOKING THE FOODS OF MY HOMELAND with ✨

Together, they explored the vastness of Lebanese regional cooking, the ways food carries memory across borders and generations, and how even the most familiar dishes can shift dramatically from village to village, family to family, home to home. Anissa spoke beautifully about the micro-regional nature of Lebanese cooking—how recipes are constantly shaped by geography, migration, seasonality, and personal history.

From discussions of village dishes and family tables to the cultural histories layered into everyday cooking, the evening reminded us how cookbooks can hold far more than instructions—they can preserve identity, movement, and home itself.

Thank you to and everyone who joined us for another special sold out evening at the shop 🩵

Signed copies of LEBANON are available in-store and online 🇱🇧

A little Sunday night sweetness from the other week’s celebration of CAKE FROM LUCIE with and 🍰

Thank you to everyone who came out for such a warm, thoughtful evening - full of conversations about baking, homesickness, hospitality, the French countryside, New York City origin stories, and even the strange ways imposter syndrome can quietly become its own kind of superpower.

Special thanks of course to Lucie and Sasha for bringing a beautiful cake for everyone to share together at the shop ✨

Spring author event season keeps rolling, and we’re grateful to spend these nights with all of you.

Signed copies of CAKE FROM LUCIE are available in the shop and online while we got ‘em.

Last week’s conversation with around EATING AT HOME settled into something really warm and honest.

Less about “cooking” in the formal sense, more about eating at home as a practice—rituals, gestures, the ways food fits into the middle of busy lives.

Early on, joked that he’d been “self-medicating with this book,” which pretty much opened the door to the whole conversation. Real talk.

Trinity spoke candidly about being an entrepreneur, a working parent of two young children, food from both the Japanese and the African American diaspora, and figuring out how to feed yourself and your family in a way that feels good but also realistic. Not every meal needs to be ambitious to matter. Dashi scrambled eggs!

Thanks to everyone who came out and spent the evening with us ✨

EATING AT HOME are currently sold out, but we’ll have more back in stock soon.
