- these Afghan war rugs started showing up in markets in the last 10 years, a response to the CIA’s involvement in the drug wars. Thisis one of the finer examples we’ve seen. purchased from a collector in Pakistan. Good examples of these newer weavings are getting harder for us to find and bring into the gallery as the market has been flooded with lower quality repros but everyone and then we come across a masterful og piece like this one.
