New from Lemieux et Cie, and a little hard to categorize: four handmade ceramic forms, Taiko, Enso, Kado, and Hashira, that work just as well as a stool or an end table, indoors or out. Four shapes, three glazes, and a reactive kiln that refuses to make two the same. Pick your shape, pick your glaze, and enjoy owning the only one quite like it. Sit on it, or set a drink on it. It won't mind either way.

What happens when a photograph keeps going past the shutter? You get work like this. Herbier, Nara, Algonquin, and Otaru each start with an image, then are layered, collaged, and finished by hand, drawing on wabi-sabi Japan and the tonal hush of ink landscapes. Printed on archival German etching paper in editions of just ten per size, each signed, numbered, and issued with a Certificate of Authenticity. Made to order, and made to last.

Swedish brass candlesticks, a brass tulip vase, hand-thrown studio pottery in drippy blue glaze, Murano glass in cobalt and amber, a postmodern steel table lamp, and a set of patinated bronze candlesticks with real farmhouse soul.

Every piece is one of one. Once it sells, it's gone for good. Come by the SoHo studio to see the collection up close; the patina and detail don't fully translate on screen.

Why does this oak look the way it does? The answer is five centuries old. Cerusing began as a way to protect wood, rubbing lime into the grain, until the French saw that it also revealed the grain's full pattern. They never let it go. Our Corvaux collection carries the technique into now: hand-finished cerused oak, hand-lined brass inlay, and a sphere motif that repeats across ball feet and sculptural bases. The beauty of the wood was always the point.
